costs me about $1000 to fill up ($3.70 gal * 260 gal) but that usually lasts about 600 miles, 30 hours of runtime on the motors, but with the diesels I average 2.2 mpg with full tanks, and 2.5 mpg with around 100 gals left. I fill up 5-6 times a year, I use the boat almost every weekend and year round, already done 2 Bahamas trips this year and one trip to the keys. $6000 is a lot of good times out on the water!

I have been spending some time on my cousins 45' Viking.
He spends 6500 in fuel for a fishing weekend.
20,000 in fuel for a family vaca in the bahamas.

Way less than my insurance.

When I tell someone what I spend in boat fuel, the typical response is “That’s a waste of fuel”. My response to that is No, heating a house all winter is a waste of fuel!!!

50 hours/year x 30 gallons/hour x $4/galloon = $6k per year. Ouch:poopoo: Remind me not to do the math again.

Sorry everyone as this subject is probably one of those "best if not spoken about" kind of things. :whistle:

But since we are on the subject, I noticed a trend here. It appears the the NY area seems to be one of the higher priced areas for gas. The average cost of 93 in the Maryland area (from what I've noticed) is around $4.00 a gallon. This could be another thread, but how is everyone getting screwed :party-smiley-004:, I mean what is everyone paying per gallon of gas these days and where are you located?

When I have to start asking I'll give up performance boating... I get gas every time I need it and some times just in case!

Bout $100 a weekend. I must thank the cops for that.. 35 mph speed limit on weekends with 1 warning already. Gas on lake is $4.769 as of the other day. Thankfully I trailer...

26 hours on baja 25 outlaw cost me $600 so far. Usually consume around 15-20 gallons a day.
