I will check on this for sure, don't think it is a big deal , Laz was there at all times and he would have notice something.
He mentioned he could have squeeze more hp numbers but we wanted a good reliable motor that could last and not peak hp numbers.

Its something to look at.
I dont think a 383 is going to make 475 with the parts he described - especially at 5200 RPM.
Sprink is right - HP doesnt mean jack other than a bragging number and making sure you are in the ballpark. Torque rules the day in a boat.
The torque number looks great - too good to be fully off of one hole, but depending on weather the sensor may have a known issue i'd have to assume Laz would pull the plug and check it, but you are right something looks off on the chart.
How close is the other mill Diego? and how much time did it take to get to 398 - how many pulls? Im assuming if its one mill only it took all day.

Consider...out of the box Edelbrock heads and intake with a relatively conservative custom grind using 1.5 rockers.Also know it was tuned and tested running 89 Octane "Corner Store" real world gasoline. I think it's a solid match up for reliable high hour performance in a "civilian" twin engine application.
I told Diego these 383's would be healthy, strong and reliable performers in just about anything including a heavy inboard cruiser replacing Big Blocks. Imagine these in a 292 FasTech
If twin 300 Mag MPI's will push a 292 70 MPH...is 80 MPH a reasonable expectation with these 383's? If I had a 292 FasTech sitting around waiting for power I would sure as Hell give 'm a look.

Watch the video...no miss fire and from what we hear...it's solid!! I'm thinking a sensor on number 3 for the TQ numbers to be where they are.

i guess with the parts he chose i expected more,,my friend had a similat build almost the same cam but afr cyl heads and he is 498 hp and 520 fl lbs tq..my 355 dont have a roller canm and made more hp @ 5600..
im not knocking this build,,i just expected aroun5 475 hp,500 ftlbs of tq...

with some work on the heads ,bigger ratio rockers, advancing timing a couple of degrees more and a spacer under the intake manifold , those numbers would not be far.
My main concern was/is durability on these mills .

here are the numbers on 2nd motor , pretty much same specs.
Cylinder #3 on first motor being low was a bad sensor in dyno that was corrected easily , obviously engine numbers on 2nd mill tell that are both pretty equal.
