Agreed...he might just be referring to the liniage of the NuTech/Chief molds....Apache had a straight bottom 41 and 47...

ACTUALLY Apache DID make and run that hull. The attached pic is the 42 apache twin step. First boat pulled from that mold. It was the ONLY Apache made out of that mold. It had twin Diesels and is currently in South America I believe. ( not 100% on current location )

However... I think ( assuming )he was referring to how this hull against a like 41 seems to take far less HP to achieve the same speeds.

They are completely balsa cored for stiffness and to make them light. I have a new 21ft Checkmate running 96.5 on GPS with all cuddy cushions, snap-in carpet, etc.

Built the same way for 40+ years! Fully end grained balsa cored topdeck and hull!! Checkmate's mold work is outstanding!!
