There have been pictures posted of this build on the internet. For example, below is one that I found by doing a quick search. It appears there are full bulkheads and knee's through out the length of the powerboat, which is how a lot of custom build boats are built, including Apache's.

Panther, no matter how good a new boat turns out, there always seems to be a select few "Apache" fanatics that will bad mouth it no matter what...infact, most of the Apache threads are surrounded by controversy just as the real Apache boat company was. Yes, Apache boats were built like battle tanks and weighed a ton, but the new Punisher is not trying to compete with ancient history. They've taken a classic offshore design with a "relatively" newer step bottom and rebuilt the boat using todays materials. The boat is a pleasure boat; not a race boat. It's built the same way many other boats are built (end grain Balsa cored, bi directional 1708 glass, hand laid, vinylester resins, etc). Checkmate's mold work is second to none, in fact in my opinion they're one of the best. I believe Checkmate will do very well with the Punisher 43. With Fountain, Baja & Donzi all dorment, Checkmate is giving the public an attainable new 41' high performance boat at a reasonable price and filling a void that many of the other high performace builders
(Outerlimits, Nortech, Skater, MTI, Mystic, Cigarette, etc.) are missing. So let the Apache fanatics blow off their steam.....it will be entertaining when they get passed by a new 43' Punisher with half the horsepower and weight!!

Agree with both, the usual bashing, one is boatless the other ones boat has yet to see the water... par for the course though.

Would love to see Checkmate build a few of them!

LOL! The Punisher will succeed or fail on it's own merits. Nothing to do with any other powerboat or person you & the minions flail away at. (It is quite entertaining though) A more professional & informative debut (Photo documented) would have been better received.

No one needs to justify anything to you, post a pic or a video of your dilapidated turd doing something and then you might earn the right to speak about the doings of any other company... you have/add as much credence to this forum as Sunkin..

Comanche3six, I'm not flailing at anybody. I'm just stating the facts. I'm a huge fan of Apache boats. I grew up in Miami during the Ben Kramer/Don Aronow/Thunderboat Row/Miami Vice years. I'm also realistic when it comes to powerboats. I ran a Fountain/Velocity/Hustler/Active Thunder/Mariah boat dealership and handled the financing for all these boats. I know what my customers justified for boat payments. I also worked as a factory rep for Active Thunder which is a small volume custom boat builder.. Any new McManus Apache would be out of the league for everyone but the extremely wealthy. They are very limited production custom ordered boats and few (if any) new ones are built. Old Apaches seem to change hands endlessly and get rebuilt with every new owner. Checkmate, on the other hand, has been around for 40+ years and builds many boats per year. Other than the new 43' Punisher, all their boats are under 30' (cept for the Baja splashed ZT 35) and were platofrms for many of that moved into bigger Offshore boats. Most Checkmate owner love their Pulsares, Convincors, ZT's, Enforcers, etc. and are as loyal to Checkmate as Apache owners are to Apache. The difference is that most people can afford a new Checkmate!! You guys are so quick to throw daggars at the 43' Punisher without giviing it a chance to prove itself. The boat is brand new and still being dialed in. It's been built by an experienced (40+ years) boat builder. It's a BIG, tall freeboard, true 41' long beast and I'm sure it will run well and handle rough water as well as any other NEW boat built today...and yes, I will say, nothing handles BIG water like a 47' Apache...but most guys I know don't want to beat on their pride and joys in 12' seas anyway!!! (and every 47' Apache needs at least 2000 HP to make it run!!)
