As for lanyards, I am +1000 on that. I bought a cheap nylon quick-release dog collar at WalMart (they come in designer styles - I think mine is skull and bones) and wear it around my ankle. Super easy to put on and take off, it doesn't get in the way while driving, and it works! But then again, I am the guy that (almost) always wears a 100MPH life jacket, too.
Why is it ignorant? Factual, not ignorant.

Good thing no one was seriously injured, that is what matters most.

WE had a guy ( Wolgast) about 10 years ago get thrown out of his Baja 420 in Charlevoix and the outcome was not as good, one guy got killed when boat ran him down and the other lost his leg. The crew of lets Rock-you guys are BAD AZZES, you are REAL heroes!! I think there are MANY guys who would watch in disbelief and never think or willingly ram there boat into someone elses boat to help, again, you are REAL HEROES, Smitty

The lanyard issue has been hashed over and over on this forum for as long as I've been a member. There have been countless incidents discussed and if history is any judge we'll be reading about a lanyard incident in the not too distant future. A few get the message but this will hardly be the last we read of this...for some reason.

Way to go DRG, after hearing of this over the weekend, I went out today and ordered a new lanyard kill switch to replace the one in mine that the PO had bypassed... definitly a wake up call..
