I was told that you couldn't fit anything but 700's under the hatch of an EC.. how much taller would a 1075 or 1100 be than a stock 700?
Stock Mercury Racing 700's don't fit. That's why my buddy went with the Ilmor's

keep the cruiser stock and spend a $100k on a 100mph cat to tow behind the boat
and put the other $ 400k in the bank

I'd MUCH rather have the Ilmor/Indy 725's anyway!

The 400SS has so much aero-drag that I think 100 is a real stretch with anything but turbines and shaft drives.

Double the hp and surface drives and you are guessing 10mph?

What are his current slip numbers?

I think it is possible, I have a friend with a one off "sandler" 47 ft 20k lb boat (lower profile) trip 1000s and asd8 drives, 103 mph
