I can't say that is necessarily true. Windsor, Ontario were going to send some Hydro workers "ENWIN" (Union workers) to help and were told that they were not needed right now. Our (Union) Hydro workers are on standby. I don't understand that decision not to have anybody, Union or not coming to help.

I wondered how those unions were going to "slow" the process of rebuilding in the NY/NJ area.....
I talked to an older guy from Point Pleasant yesterday who has significant damage to his waterfront home. He is just staying in Florida for the winter, not trying to do anything with his house. He is in his 70's, has a brand new 4mm house here and I don't think he wants to spend 2 years of his life trying to get his NJ home rebuilt. I wonder how many folks will simply take the insurance check and bulldoze the house without rebuilding, due to the hassle/expense......

Rebuild with establishing new lot lines and dealing with neighbours with no insurance would be 4 5 years of grief.
Take the money and sell the lot.

I did fine, no power loss, boat was in my driveway. just a little water creeped in the back of my shop. because the storm didnt come up the Chesapeake like Isabel did, i think we got off ok. monday afternoon when the wind was blowing i went and looked at a couple waterfront houses that are on my short list, just to see how they were faring and they were ok. but high tide was later that night. thanks for asking
