Cool Thread! (not going to lie, yes embarrased) but I am confused on the whole Apache, Cheif, Checkmate, Saber thing! :lolhit: Prob to many politics that I don't care to hear about anyways.

No reason to derail this thread, I will do some research, I guess I am just to young. But I love all mentioned, and I am very excited about this project!

Good luck to all involved, and keep the pics coming!

kidapache 02-03-2013 04:27 PM

How cool would it be in a 47 staggered setup

joker 02-03-2013 05:59 PM

I'd like to see that

How does Gail look now days

PhilV30 02-24-2013 09:40 AM

Artist (Gail Paik) who painted the original 1984 APBA World Offshore Champion "41' Apache Warpath" along with many other famous Bob Saccenti designed boats, still has the magic artistic touch.
Gail is a legendary artist and another pioneer of the offshore powerboat racing industry.

http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps2e17dc11.jpg

Gail also painted the "Chief" emblem that will adorn the new 42' Chief "Warpath" race boat.

Who says famous artwork has to be displayed in an art gallery? I rather see it thundering across the oceans (On The Warpath) throughout the earth...

Biggus 02-24-2013 09:48 AM

Love it! Very cool that it was painted by the original artist!

Kurt

X2, its way better than a snobby art gallery

Once again the master....Bob S ....shows all the talkers what a real race boat can be. Made to survive and thrive in real open ocean racing conditions.

It sure is nice to see Bob pulling some new product from that mold!

drpete3 02-27-2013 07:23 AM

I'm surprised the thread isn't getting more attention. Cool thread

The boat is looking fantastic and I am looking forward to lining up with it at Tower Bridge in London at the start.

As a boat builder we would never put foam in an area of the boat that could be crushed like the bottom, foam has very little resistance to crushing compared to balsa and once the foam has deformed the boat would delaminate!

I doubt Bobby would use a foam core in his bottoms. I think this one is kevlar

Looking good Bobby and Gail!

Rik 02-27-2013 12:31 PM

That boat came in, dry, under weight so this boat should be able to reach its speed goal. I think all that is left is installing the interior and engine hatches.

She is not a cored boat. As far as the complete schedule you would have to see if Bobby would be willing to discuss that. He and Carl worked on it for a while.

PhilV30 02-28-2013 05:08 AM

The signature number "69" is back! Almost ready for sea trial.

Hows does that work... carrying it forward?

Is the owner of the other boat, owner of this one too?

Hence the privilage,....or just like anything else to each his own and there own personal preference.

Just curious, not pot stiring

Thanks
Jon

Panther 02-28-2013 07:10 PM

Bobby is the creator of the boats so I doubt it.

fastoys 03-04-2013 09:13 PM

think on a race like that I would want to be sitting in a closed canopy boat!

baywatch 03-05-2013 09:18 AM

The pics look great. Can't wait to the new warpath in the ocean where she belongs!!

There were no conopies when it was REAL racing. The original Warpath NEVER had one and she was dominating the course and noone from that team ever got seriously hurt but they had HUGE COJONES

DrGaryDC 03-05-2013 12:35 PM

You want to use your legs for those large swells:)

good point!...

I am with you on that one Doc. I would rather be standing when the big hits are coming. A number of the race teams are actually going to be carrying devices on the boats/ team memebers measuring speed and impact forces for a study during the race. Warpath has signed on to be one of those boats. Should be interesting.

Thunderman 03-05-2013 10:04 PM

I'm sure the owner of the original Warpath doesn't mind. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery This is a wonderful boat made by the best. Everybody wins!

DrGaryDC 03-06-2013 08:27 AM

agreed

SkaterMike82 03-06-2013 09:09 AM

Im sure JC doesn't mind at all...Just gives his boat more value

Panther 03-13-2013 09:22 PM

Congrats to Bobby and the first seatrial of the new Chief Warpath! From what I was told the boat handled excellent and the performance figures have already surpassed expectations in it's maiden voyage.

Congrats again Bobby, you deserve it! A job well done!
