The crossing to Bimini, Cat Cay, or West End are really no big deal as long as you respect the weather. Any wind from the NE, N or strong east will be a problem. However 10-15 from any other direction wont be an issue but ideally you want to go when the forecast is 5-10, which is most of the time in late spring and summer. I went 4 times last year from mid may to sep and the worst trip was the way back into 15-20 west wind from Bimini, but once we got away from land we were able to cruise at 40 mph the whole way back. With your boat you won't have any issues if you keep an eye on the wind.
Stay at Bimini Sands the entrance to the channel is right there when you get to Bimini no need to idle all the way up to Bimini Bay. The Bahamas are awesome once you go you will be hooked!
