This si a bit of a Hijack but ask Dustin about the 1700s they are putting in a 44 OL. They made 1700 on 93 and I have heard they will make 2k on race fuel. They were built by goodwin competition in Omro WI. They thing that sux is Merc wont sell the M8s unless you get the motors too. So this boat will get 6's. Also my understanding is these motors will be tuned down before they go in the boat. After all this is just a pleasure boat.

Pete, you know what I'm saying....I'm saying joe schmoe isn't going to go out and buy a set of 1700s...the guy who runs that boat isn't going to be running it 160mph...It's just over built. The valve train in that motor is extremely impressive, not to mention everything else on the motor including the fact it's running MERC Ecu's reprogrammed so it interfaces with the smart craft. Now that's cool. All Aluminum, hemi style heads...she can breathe

I'm basing it on what I was told about the engine? I don't have any pictures, why don't you give them a call if you have any questions. Sonny's has been making all aluminum chevy style hemi heads for a bit now.

Do you seriously think a pair of stock 1350's pushed his huge 48' cat to 180+mph in a 1 mile drag race while it took a pair of 1800's to push a much smaller 33' cat to 190+mph in the same distance? I can't believe anyone actually ever believed he had stock 1350's at the shootout when he ran that number

I did. But I'm not much of a liar bull****ter. I don't really get the whole secretive nature of these guys.
I'll tell you what I have, how it's set up and what it will actually run any time you ask.
What's the point? There is no trophy, record book, or prize money.
"Hello, I'm blah blah. I've had my 1350s turned up. There are very few in the country. I hope it will run 180. We've had it to 170+. We are going to push it to the limit today." To me, that's a lot cooler than lying about it
