Offshore boat jumping massive breaking waves at Ocean Beach, San Francisco

The crash down on the other side had to hurt someone. This reminds me of a boat showing off for a helicopter, I think it was a Powerquest, and coming down listed. The reports said there were broken bones on a couple of people and other injuries. This Donzi boat was not flat as the bow was coming down so I'm sure there were injuries of some kind.
Sad if they felt trapped by the waves and panicked to get out. Stupid if not.

wonder how shallow the water was at the bottom of the swell. he was obviously getting pushed closer and closer to shore. maybe he had no choice but to head to deeper water. i've seen several people encounter the shallow trough issue... esp. in the sarasota passes (new and old pass) cuts.
Looking at a larger screencap, you can see the roost as the wave is running out from under the boat- he definitely hit the bottom of the trough because he looks like he just stepped off a cliff.
and one of Razz showing how to properly navigate big rollers.
