I didn't look at every post in this thread but from what I can tell not one person who posted here was even on a boat during the run and really doesn't know ****.

I was there in my boat behind them all. I have driven both boats (DCB M41 and Bills 388) within the last 7 days and the truth can of course be found somewhere else. So keep running your keyboards and we will keep running our boats.

REALITY; Tony, Dave and the owners cruised comfortably all the way to destination and never encountered the Skater at all because it wasn't even on the run. Safe proper running was the goal of the day and that is what they did. They were not there to prove anything or compete with anyone.

Day two we returned to Gilbert's to run down with with smaller group. The DCB left way before the group. By the time they got to Islamorada the Skater caught up. Both operators knew there was nowhere else to run and they idled to the marina, it is a recreational boating event

To imply or suggest anything else especially given all the work we have done to promote safety in this segment is irresponsible especially given the attention FPC's new initiative has received to suggest there was any competition.

I will not respond on this forum anymore beyond this. You all know how to reach me.

Furthermore, I don't guess, speculate, or run with opinion. I evaluate, measure and demonstrate with real statistics and measurable performance. Just like I did throughout my entire Coast Guard Career. I don't have an ego about any of this, I have proven results and accomplishments that are recordable.
Brad I'm not 100% sure what prompted all that, but I have a few suspicions. Here's the problem with what you wrote since you took a very light hearted and fun thread and turned it into something completely different.

On a not so lighthearted note you claim to have some kind of intimate knowledge because you were in a boat "BEHIND" them. Judging by the pic waaaayyyy behind them. I'm not sure how being miles behind someone qualifies you to know more then the guys that took the picture, or drove the boat? Or even me that saw the picture and posted it for nothing more then a laugh.

You backed that qualification up later by saying that you had driven both boats (which I'm not even sure anyone else was referring to another boat in particular) days after the fact and that somehow made you king poop of turd island on the subject matter. Which again that qualification is irrelevant to the conversation at hand?

You took a shot at EVERY SINGLE PERSON that posts on any boating board with the running the keyboards and we will keep running our boats comment (the irony being that you just posted on a board), all the while completely missing the point on so many levels it would be impossible to list them all, and then in an epic swing and a miss followed it up with "you don't get it."

Brad, between the two of us believe me when I say I'm not the one who "doesn't get it" in this instance anyways.

You are charged with trying to build a forum to compete with this one. You have taken several shots at OSO in the recent past (yet still post here), and are now not only taking back handed shots on here, but spitting in the faces of the members that you are trying to recruit with your keyboard cowboy references. You have literally just proved yourself in two posts to be completely incapable of the task at hand, not to mention you came off like a dick when you did it.

You're ego is completely out of control and in my opinion has you feeling like you are some kind of pied piper that will lead all boaters to salvation under the premise of "safety first."

Where you miss the point entirely is to many people myself included, boating is freedom! Boating is fun! Boating is not a regimented set of criteria that has to be followed like the worlds most boring instruction manual. Most importantly you're ego completely disables you from understanding that while you have one way of doing it, it isn't the "only" way, and beyond that your way might not be the way for everyone or even 100% correct?

As for the board politics side of it.. I'll finish it up with this. You have no business in the world acting like that on a forum. You have a business in your avatar that has now lost business because of those actions. (At least 2 customers x that by 10 usually on lurkers). The second side of that is I don't think you have the skills to be coming after me like that on a forum either.

I'll give you a free tip if you are going to try and act like some kind of board warrior/keyboard cowboy type. Never make a declarative statement like "I won't post in this thread anymore" because if you do post in the thread again... Well then the other guy made you his ***** as you conformed to his will. The other side of that is if you don't post, the guy made you his ***** because it appears you left because you either lost or can not back up what you said.

Like I said just a friendly tip for the future..

RD

Well said RD. I'm impressed. It's a shame how we tend to place ourselves on pedestals under certain circumstances. When in actually we really are no different than everyone else but just think so. Bio's are self written portraits of expressing how great we think we are. Maybe it's time for another vacation back to reality so he can see how he is versus how he thinks he is.

Nice RD, that was one of the best roast posts in a profesional way I've seen in some time, and I think this thread was great you started.

For a very long time DCB and Dave has gotten a lot of crap that there boats can't hang with a skater MTI nor tech etc.... but your thread you started fun or not kinda shows where he's taken his boats. Pictures do say a thousand words.
