Your best bet is take a trip down to the keys (Key largo, tiki bar ext..). The best trip you can take. IMO Fort Lauderdale is horriable as its all no wake unless you go on the outside. Let me know and we'll do the trip together as i have a house over there on the water which you can dock up at. This goes for both of you. .

I figure we'll just run wherever we are going out on the ocean, then tuck in for lunch, head back out for the afternoon, then come in somewhere to spend the night.
Lauderdale is "Mostly" no wake, with some 30 MPH zones(can be stretched a bit, but not much). That is the reason I normally go North, running the outside is a good plan, but there are quite a few days my 24 is not too comfortable to run out there for long periods, I am sure your A/T will be fine most days. North through West Palm, we have some area's north of Boynon inlet where we can run wide open, along with the bay in Miami. It is a long idle down the ICW through Pompano to get to Shooters area(ask Steve, SLboatdrinks, we did it one day), and even further to get to Port Everglades. My suggestion if running south(I am assuming you will be using 14'th street ramp in pompano), is to head out Hillsboro inlet and run south to Port E'glades and head in to follow above suggestions. Other options would to run a bit further and head in Haulover or Gov. Cut in Miami, then run the bay to the keys if you desire. You can also head out Hillsboro and head North, Boca inlet(Lake Boca, decent sandbar to hang out for a bit) is only about 5 miles, Boynton inlet(be careful here) about 15 miles, and Palm Beach inlet(Peanut Island, another decent sandbar) about 25 miles. FYI, some of the Manatee zones run throught he winter, and are lifted during the summer.

Broward County

Nov. 15 – March 31

Idle speed – Port Everglades Power Plant area. Portions of the South New River Canal and Dania Cut-off Canal near the Lauderdale Power Plant.
Slow speed – Intracoastal Waterway from the Palm Beach County line through Hillsboro Inlet south to Fort Lauderdale/Port Everglades area. (Note: Some portions are weekend-only slow speed.)

The 15th st area is pretty close to the nearest inlet. 5-10mins I think. From there, 20mins north along F.L. beach is Pompano. But without Shooters not sure if its worth goin up there. South from Lauderdale you got 20mins to Haulover cut , maybe another 10 min to Gov cut Miami.
If I had a member here to hang with to run from Miami to the Keys I would do that. I love key Largo and the inside run to the tiki, but a guide is key. Lock your truck tight.

Premier Performance and I will do the run through there with ya if ya want, I have it marked on GPS as I am sure he does also. Only problem is I run a little slow for y'all, 60 on a good day. Here is a vid from a few years back running thru the bay outside homestead.

Have to watch. There are (3) Florida versions of No Wake. There is No Wake (Idle), Slow wake (no white water in wake, nose of boat settled), then the manatee zone (psted speed from idle to min, placning speed).

You are probably 30 min. from POrt Everglades to Bahia Mar, 40 min. to Shooters.

Oh man PP...that is soooo tempting! I only have a couple days, though...and need to be rolling north by Friday (wife has to be back teaching the youth of America the following Monday).

Thanks for the input guys...I'm checking maps to see if I can find these places. Ordered the map chip for the Northstar GPS that's on the boat, hopefully that will aid in navigation.
