I have a question....How do we have 3:00 of video leading up to the accident and 2 seconds during the accident? Did the person recording actually stop recording? I think they meant to edit it 5 seconds short of that haha. |

Everyone is pitching a fit about how unsafe the speeds are, you couldn't ask for better conditions or for a more open lake? That's why we buy these boats! Stupid mistake by the driver to cross behind too close is all I see wrong....
The only reason this thread exists is because of stupid driving. |

I have gathered that many feed off the " I really know what happened" or " I have full 1080i video of the whole thing" " I have in cockpit gopro footage" " I have millions of screen shot images.... But you can't see... Neener neener neener.. On a more serious note. Glad the peeps are all ok. |
Cats by design compress air in the tunnel. Water does not compress. When he crossed the other boats rooster tail, up and over the boat went. Happens in Champ boat racing (o/b tunnels).

How about maybe the fact that the choppers and other boats were on scene in a short amount of time would point to a POSITIVE preparation plan by the event organizer? I have no idea, but that seems logical. 1 boat accident, no real injuries. quick response. I'd say they did at least something correctly.
Operator error, and he freely admitted as much in the report. |

The guy clearly doesn't need to be driving anything more than a pontoon with a 40 on the back. After watching the second video that could have been way worse. He clearly didn't know how to operate the boat at that speed or he is just a reckless driver.

Glad all are safe, but will agree with 99.9% of all the posts. The line that guy choose to run at that giving moment was DOWN RIGHT WRONG! As for the amount of people there to help after the crash A++ job. Until you see that happen in front or behind you, or are in that situation you cannot say exactly how you would handle it.
Not Bashing anyone just saying, easy to say how you would or would have handled it after seeing it unfold. |
