I saw that too. and it looks like that if you watch the last 5 seconds .. But From how it looks to me if you watch the last 20 seconds.. It looks like the driver of the boat on the far left was spooked and figured he needed to avoid on-coming traffic so he pitched out of a line that the whole rest of the fleet was starting to turn.( left w the river)

No , it's called keep your lane, not cross in front of a bunch of other boats to be first. The guy that flipped clearly was in the wrong.

Seriously ?

You cannot drive at a second in those speeds in that trim angle.
You will flip over long before to reach those angles.
How drives are in that position dont know but for sure they arent that out when boat flip.

I am aware. it also carries in inherent risk and affects ability to recover (in cats)

You should probably read his signature before giving a National Champion Cat Throttleman tude about cats....

glassdave 04-29-2013 11:26 PM

hehe . . . I didn't take it as tude just good discussion. I do like to bring awareness to prop rotation though. I have quietly tracked it on accidents in cats for about twelve years now. nearly every cat involved in a violent loss of control was spinning in. only one I can think of that was not spinning in was tomcat in cambridge a few years ago but seeing the boat on the crane it appeared to have skeg strike damage. I've personaly raced both and after going over spinning a superstock cat in I choose to not do that anymore lol. :D
