Should of, could of, would of... Bottom line is... Ask anyone out there running, and they will tell you that the guy in the 35 was flying the nose at an extreme level. Keep in mind this same thing happens in races an they don't flip cause of this. It's not Tonys job (driver of the 41) to make sure the 35 driver knows how to be safe and drive a boat, or better yet give him the talent to do it! There were a few boats that flat out should not have ever been in that first group. Just like I don't deserve to be on a NASCAR track racing just cause I can afford the car! Yes it's that simple folks!

Very fast pleasure boats pushing racing lines and dealing with real racing situations. Getting closed out, traffic, multiple wakes, wash downs, turns and high speed dog legs with NO room for error.
Perspective comes quick. ...you really want to race.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7i1uOtLZHE 20 min of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x7T7z8mGBo Were all waiting. |

Hey it could have been worse,,that 35 dcb could have ran up the a$$ of that 41 dcb instead of crossing the wake,,thats why he crossed and did not make the turn because ''tony'' was already their so instead of sinking 2 boats the 35 dcb took it on the chin..

Or maybe pulled back on the sticks an trimmed the boat for sloppy water and not for a shoot out... But wait- ya that's Tonys fault too!!!:lolhit:

The Lake Havasu Desert Storm is a great event. It brings boaters in from all over the country to see these beautiful boats and watch them run. It brings a lot of good, decent people into the town, fills up the hotels and provides a venue for people that just love this stuff. It is a lot of fun to see the boats and hear the stories.
While I keep hearing how unsafe this is, I couldn't disagree more. The poker runs are about as safe a venue as it gets to run these extreme boats (outside of a sanctioned race). It is a closed course for 20 miles in one direction. While there is a possiblity that boats could stray onto the course, it is far better than constantly getting cut off by a jet ski or boat when running fast on an average day on an open lake or river. That being said, we really need to support these events before the lawyers and the safety police kill all of the cool events in our country.
