I doubt the boat was going 140 mph. The helicopters where still there and they do t go that fast. The boat slowed down a lot in the air. By the time it hit the water and hooked I bet it slowed down to around 50mph.

They will have a hard time hiding this accident from a potential buyer and I really doubt the guys at DCB would lie about it.

More like 100-110 when he lost control.

bottom line is that Tony jumped the start. He had no choice in doing that or he would have been passed by skater40. Tony knew his boat was slower than gary and his only shot to get to the springs first was to jump the start.

finally someone tells it right. the 41 is not that fast when compared to like boats. it barely went any faster than collegewood in the sh00tout and the 41 is much lighter and was proped for the run. i think the two boats are about the same length, 41 minus their bussel is probably a 38 bottom too. had the 41 followed the instructions, held his line and didnt try to jump he could have saved one of his fellow dcb a butt load of $$ that day.:poopoo:

well if the 41 jumped didn't the 35 go with him?

skaterjim 05-07-2013 05:55 AM

they way i see it the guy that fliped his boat was at fault he is responsible for his own actions and could have let off the gas and could have turned left. he did not have to go thru the 41"s roostertale.

Since it was a poker run , NOT a race, I'd say there were at least 2) overly aggressive drivers jumping the start. ....... my .02

Hey Skater Jim- good to see someone has common sense... Been absent from this thread for obvious reasons lately. It's still funny to me that some think it's the other guys fault, and not the actual person DRIVING the boat that flipped!! People are so freakin ignorant it's funny!:lolhit:

DUH well yeah :-)

so can we all agree that Jumping the start was not the cause of the Accident?...... SkaterJim and precision details and i share the same opinion, so if we start eliminating variables in the cause of the accident I think the only thing left standing will be " could the 35 have pulled back? and did he?" I believe the answers to these two questions are obvious but would love to understand a different point of view, however they just dont make sense......

Its like being on my street bike at 130 mph and blaming the car i rear ended..... that will never fly in court...
