1000 islander you are so right on the snowmobiles. Every 800 can do 110 mph all day. Lol

took 25 gallon". I never say there is 3 more. Lol

The snowmobile hobby is the same way.........you always hear some assclown in the bar talking about his 120 mph ten year old claptrap that wouldn't really run 90 on it's best day. You can't even argue with that kind of stupidity, because you will never win. People ask me all the time how fast my turbo Arctic Cat is and I just smile and say I don't know, maybe 100. (it has been 129 on gps) and then I sit back and listen to all the bull****. Same with my Fountain. Pop the hatches and people see 3 motors and they all think you must date or be married to a girl with the last name Shell or Exxon, then they tell you about their buddy with the Rinker that goes 85 with a small block.
I've been lectured a few times at the pumps between the truck and the boat by Prius driving, tree hugging dorks. I've also had the typical how much gas, how big is the motor, you use that for fishing, what do you do for a living, it must be nice, blah, blah, blah BS.

The one comment/question that I do get all the time is "what year is that?". When I tell them it's an old dinosaur, that it's a '91, they are like "wow that thing is beautiful for it's age". Gotta love those old school Fountains, they still look good.

I get the Baja bit a lot even though it says Kachina right in front of their face, but my favorite response to how fast is 86 on gps but the cops told me I was doing 100+ down the mountain with the brakes smoking. ( going to DS in 2010 via Phoenix. New pads & 1 rotor at the bottom of the pass, Won't do that again. Lol) Randy

I had one guy pull in and ask me "how much did that cost new?" I told him "they don't come cheap, but I bought it used so I saved a ton". He replies, "we'll not to be nosey or nothin, but really, how much does it cost?" I think he about sh!t himself when I told him Msrp was over 300k.
I just don't get why people care so much?
I enjoy the what motors, how big, etc questions because even though they usually don't have a clue what they are looking at they are interested in the machine. Not just how much everything costs.
By the way, you guys all must have lots of cousins because everyone I run into has a cousin that has a bigger faster one.
