The boat is a Chief/Apache built by Checkmate. The paint work was done by Mitcher T I think, interior by McLeod, etc. The boat was built rock solid and is gorgeous. The reviews of it were great. Who cares that's it's a Checkmate, it's one bad@$$ boat that I'd give a kidney to own! And I'd run that boat side by side with any OL, Cig or Fountain in the slop as I'd bet it will handle better! If I had the money, I'd be calling Bobby at Chief and placing my order. Nothing compares to the styling of the 41 Apache/42 Chief/43 Checkmate IMO.

I've spoken to Bobby and he's officially "adopted" us as one of his boats. He had lots of great information and was very gracious.

What manufacturer can sell a 400k boat without dialing it in. Sorry guys but even in the mid 90's its gonna get smoked by its competition which run 100-105mph w/ 700sci and #6's. I could buy a 39Cig or 42 fountain with 525's for less money that runs high 80's. In the 250k range you could buy any of the 3 I listed and there is no comparison in performance and quality.
Checkmate intended to make a statement when they built it.
Not only did they do there home work and have the right people in place for the build
they also built additional tooling for the dash configuration and improved the cockpit space by 20"

Checkmate also built new tooling for the engine hatch,.....and that is just the start of everything
else they went all out on.

I have had the pleasure of crawling all over it there workmanship is fantastic.
It is the first one they built,......and anything gets improved with more builds.
Same as Bobby Saccenti's......they keep improving.

But none the less I think Checkmate hit a home run for the first one they built.

Kinda harsh to be picking on it if you haven't laid your hands on it, let alone let
time speak for it self.

The only thing wrong with this boat is I do not have it on my hoist. I am tired of all the Red boats so Blue is right up my alley. Check300 Best of luck and Enjoy the Heck out of this fine ride.

Why anyone would bag on this is beyond me.

Sheesh, I'd love to have this to rip through Long Island Sound. If an OL blew by me, I'd wave and have a huge smile on my face at the same time. This is good for our industry.

Dang check283, why piss on another guy's parade? If you don't like it.....don't buy one but be happy for the new owner.

Congrats Check300! Awesome boat that I'm sure you and your wife will really enjoy. Can't wait to see it in person someday.

Agreed. Dans 40SVX runs 112mph with 650s. Given its a much smaller boat though. As long as the owner enjoys it thats all that matters!
