Quote: I used 6,500 (stock 1,200 rpm max) to show It is possible. I'm not sure what the slip is on a perfectly dialed in boat. The calculator shows the numbers are possible.
Gino you are correct that 6500 is the max rpm for pleasure 1200's, However I am pretty sure Randy is running Race 1200's which have 6800 rpm limiters. Which changes the slip dramatically, like from 0 to 4% if I plugged it in correctly. In addition Merc was known to run these from 7200-7400 in certain race boats like the CRC supercat. And there are people out there that can change the limiters to what ever you want.
I am not saying that they ran 199 as I have no first hand knowledge, but it is very possible. Probably not with 1200 hp,but with dialed up Merc 1200's.

I can assure you the photo is real, if we would have photo shopped it, it would say 200.4 plain and simple. There is always someone who doesn't have the knowledge, ball's or knowhow to do what others can and they have to bash them to make themselves feel good. Why bash someone who has the talent and knowhow to make speed? The motors are stock, we are running K and N filters and I changed the rockers from Aluminum to steel. When I got the motors the rev limiters were set to 7300, but I had them lowered to 6800 because of head gasket issues that are known problems with these motors. We were also running a custom set of props that I got from Geico that were designed for there turbine boat for speeds around 200+. Hater go ahead and hate, I don't care, I know what it did and just wanted to thank everyone that has worked there ass off on this project.

I'm not bashing anyone, the photo looks doctored. That's all I'm saying. So if it did, congrats to you and the crew...

What is this crap "haters always hate", the photo is altered. Post the original from your iphone in high resolution if you want to lay this to rest. I'm so tired of this altruistic power trip people get on. There's one gps number and supposedly the boat has done it and suddenly that's the end of it?

So with magic props, a 44 mti and merc 1200s you're saying I can go 200mph?

I did this in a 18 ft bass boat with special beer, boat load of bait, and special props too, I wore camo too, it was so fast the gps didn't even see me...that's a better photoshop than your speedometer...

You're telling me you didn't go-pro the entire testing event with all the "technology you have?" What's the harm and posting the on board camera footage? Or maybe your special gps is reading over 200 at 160mph?

I respect you Reggie and think you and Big Reggie have done some amazing things in boats, BUT, at the same time, I'm not going to sit back and not say anything when I see something.

A little off topic but I went to a car show and passed by RF marine this past weekend. Nothing there! Did I miss something, did they move?

If a guy was to go through all that trouble to fake it would it be way easier to get pics at 100, 99, and 88 mph and just photoshop the the two missing links?

Well then 4% slip is realistic... I know the Fountain boys are good. The HP really doesn't matter. If they really spun 40s with 1.24 gears @6800 then 4% is 199 and that is realistic for sure. And yes very impressive! Plus I know the Canopy ads about 10 mph over open cockpit with less drag of course. But ya it's all about set up! I agree they don't need to build boats, guys would love to go faster on less power any day of the week!!

So with magic props, a 44 mti and merc 1200s you're saying I can go 200mph?
He said they were team Gieco props and you need a 44 mti and 1200's with 6800 rev limiters, steel rockers and K&N filters. Oh and all the work Real Fast Marine put into the boat... I think that's the key your missing.

I respect you Reggie and think you and Big Reggie have done some amazing things in boats, BUT, at the same time, I'm not going to sit back and not say anything when I see something.
So you keep referring to the Real Fast crew but they are not the ones who posted this picture or info the boat owner did. Why do you assume the photo is doctored? I'm sure if you took different photos at slight different angles of an LCD screen they would all look a little different. I don't see how someone who just advertised there new business on this site would even take a chance of calling this out on a assumption that it maybe a doctored photo. What if its not? You want the reputation of a sh*t slinger?
