Another tough scenario is when someone is broke down on the water with their hatch up.......many times people are so involved in either figuring out the problem or fixing the problem or they are pissed that they have a problem in the first place they come off pretty sh*tty if you stop if ask if they need assistance.......but you hate not to stop either

I usually like talking to people about my boat, but once in a while they catch me when I am in the middle of doing something or getting ready to head out and don't have time for the 20 questions, I'm never rude to anybody but they might be left with the impression that I am blowing them off.

Some people are just diks. Its not just boating either. how many times people let the door slam in your face walking out a store or gas station, cut in front of you in lines, wont ever cut ya a break in traffic, etc. I was raised to be courteous to others, and act like a gentleman. I even notice it in retail. Years ago, when you walked into any store, as a patron, and bought something, the clerk/cashier/owner would say ''THANK YOU'', because you were spending your money at their establishment. Nowadays, I find myself saying ''THANK YOU'' to them while im handing over the money. People today act as if they are doing YOU a favor by doing their job.

Probably a simply reason and didn't think he would end up as a discussion on a message board.

Funny you bring this up, a buddy was just trying to launch his 42 and was being asked a bunch of questions by some dude at the ramp.

I like to think that I'm approachable and polite at the ramp." Treat unto others---" is how I was raised. And let's face it, loud speedboats have a bad rap anyway. Why throw gas on the fire by being a jerk.
