Your video said DJ1. Can you move the camera around on the 1? I thought you had to get the 2 to do that.

Looks like DJI to me, I have a Phantom 2 with the Zenmuse gimbal and a Go Pro Hero 3. You can control the tilt on the camera from the remote.

Santa Claus brought me the Phantom 2 Vision and I have been flying it when it isn't too windy and it isn't too cold here in TN (BRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!) It is pretty easy to fly and even fly by camera when you can't see it very well but I landed it on concrete in a little wind and when it fell over the plastic blades busted up. Now I purchased the carbon blades and it is much more responsive and much faster. I like the camera on the unit because I can control with my phone the angle of the camera. You can control your GoPro with your iOS too but not the angle you take the picture. The return home feature is very cool so if you lose connection to the device it will go up to 20' and return back to where it took off. Now if something is between there and where it plans to land it will crash into it for sure. The GPS feature is also something that makes it so easy to fly as if you don't touch anything it will hover in one spot. The only aggravating thing is you have to calibrate the GPS every time you fly. Very cool toy and the camera is great!!

I expect your son to be completely schooled in all flight situations by next November so he can cover Key West.

So get crackin' DAD !!

Same thing happened to me in the wind but it still flew fine with the blades scratched up. Which carbon blades did you buy?

I think you are misinformed about a few of the capabilities of the Phantom 2 with the gimbal, I can control the camera tilt remotely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojWg1BwvTec , I also have a gimbal so my camera stays steady no matter what the copter does https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dngSEA12yFs

I can't see what the camera is seeing without adding other equipment but the parts are available to get FPV and telemetry.

The GoPro can film 1080HD/30fps and take photos (every 5, 10, 30, 60 sec) at the same time, I can control it with the wireless but it is easier just to leave it on and delete the photos or video I don't need, the 64GB sd card will out last 10 fully charged batteries.

The return home feature is good but it goes up to 20 meters, and mine landed about 10' from my home point which ended up being on my neighbors roof, i am going to try again in a more open area.

You only have to calibrate the GPS if you are flying from a different location everytime, give it a few minutes after you turn it on and it will acquire satellites and be ready to fly (long green blinking) on its own. Calibration doesn't hurt though if you want to be extra cautious, it is a nuisance though.

one more thing post some videos of that bada$$ MTI in action!!!

This one will be hard to shoot down, downside is it does not have much payload
