[QUOTE=Sydwayz;4064365]That's cool; but let's just go back to this thread with many of the same posts; from earlier this winter. :D
There were better pictures; especially of Key West which is where I'd rather be right now.

You saw a Baja run103mph with stock 525sc?

Thats exactly what I'm saying. The AT is more comparable to a Baja than an Outerlimits in all aspects, price, resale, performance, amenities. And what is "a lot more amenities" I have a full cabin I can stand up in and a full shower.

Just another statement that shows you don't have a clue what actually goes into the construction of them and what the differences are between them.
Read the ads between the 2 boats being compared to see the list of amenties. This isn't about your 39OL.

Your own statements from another post showing that you run 91 with the proper props on your 98.5mph boat.

The same goes for AT's. Everyday speeds with normal props are 83-85. Add a 6k set of Hering props and top speed increases are the same.
Like I said, you're 10-15% faster. I hope that 10-15% is worth the 50% extra cost to you.

The speeds you keep quoting for Baja's are not even close to reality. A 38 Special won't break 70 with 500's and a 36 Outlaw sees 71-72.
In case you don't know, Powerboat Mag tests from 15 years ago were a little skewed based on advertsing $$$.

I would think that being the astute Baja owner that you are that you would know more about them, like who owns the defunct company.
It really does not matter who actually owns nothing though. Baja has not built a twin engine boat for about 3-5 years.
Brunswick owned Baja and gave it to Fountain to try and bail out Fountain. Brunswick also owns Mercruiser.

Just to be fair, that boat at Shootout, was not a standard 35 configuration, But it sure did make people talk.... There is RARELY a time any straight hull will out perform (in top end) a stepped hull, with the same size or power. I think the comparisons of Baja to AT, is just in styling and size. I will concede, the AT is a better fit and finish boat, The AT also cost substantially more to begin with.

But all the AT's, during the poker runs, were always behind us, so I can't comment about the ride difference.
:santa:

My 40, w/496's(3) ran 79.8 on the GPS. But day to day running 75-76, non lab props.

The Quattro is realistically the best comparison to the AT, But what fun would it be to have true comparisons to debate!

I like the way it runs...very similar to a Velocity 390.

Here is a picture of the attitude of the 36SL at cruise for those of you asking about running surface while under way. The boat runs very flat and it extremely stable at all speeds. We will have two 2014 Outerlimits 36SL's at the Miami show. The blue 520 boat will be in the water at Sea Isle. The 565 boat will be in the Outerlimits display outside at the convention center under tent. Come see the Outerlimits Powerboat and Performance Boat Center crews and determine for yourself which boat better fits your needs.

On a side note, if we were comparing a similar hull between Active Thunder 37 and Outerlimits, I would have to put the 37 AT up against the 37 Stiletto. Both are 37FT, bolt on swim platforms, single step, side by side seating, Tall top cap which results in a large cabin. The 37AT and 36SL are two completely different boats built for 2 completely different markets.

I came across this water repellent bottom on Facebook: :D

The 35 Baja Outlaw came out in the mid-2000s. The 525sc was a 454 with a Supercharger that made ~525HP at the crankshaft; and I believe they stopped making them in the mid-90s.

What exactly is this boat you refer to? Are you referring to 525EFIs?

Smartest post on this tread.

We will be side by side in Miami and I would consider it an honor to be able to swap seat time with Mike and critique each other's boats followed by a few beers on the dock.

We aren't selling Ford vs. Chevy. It's a different fit for all these guys.

I will enjoy meeting you.

Pat
