It's funny you say that because it is something that has been brought to my attention a lot lately from some people who know the boating industry pretty well. These people feel that the product OL is pushing out the door today, isn't the same product they were making in the early 2000's in regards to fit and finish.

Griff, I made this move a year ago out of my 28' checkmate and this was my list of choices. We like to stay overnight on the boat and all of these were capable of that. This thread was an interesting one to follow, (hard at times), but I agreed with Brett M. a few pages back when he stated this comparison would have been better for the two 37's (AT vs. Stiletto). There were a few options and deals out there at the time that lead me to my purchase. We love it!

1. The 36 OL looks like a Baja
2. The AT performs like a Baja
3. Be brand loyal regardless of what the facts are, just cheerlead and bash the other guy.

Strange as this may sound, I'd change one word, to make the post accurate:
...replace performs with handles.
(The "performance" aspect applies when one compares 15 year old boats; but not modern examples.)

You can actually turn a DDC AT like a straight bottom boat (offshore/at speed/flat water) without going swimming.
(Notice, I didn't say trim it like a straight bottom.)

I would not expect a guy with a flat deck and a flat bottom to understand. :drink:

And one last thought...
Define: fit and finish as it pertains to these boats, and how it's been referred to in this thread.

Another agreement, the best OL comparison to the 37 AT would without a doubt be the 37 OL. The 37 OL in the std side by side engine configuration is VERY similar, or at least as close as you're going to get when comparing an OL to a 37 AT. Both are very similar in cockpit layout, cabin amenities, single step hull (minus the few quad steps), and speed with similar power... although the 37 OL was offered in a staggered SSM 6 configuration, which is kind of in another league from a performance and drive reliability standpoint.

Where does the Hustler 41 Razor fit into this? I see it also has the intimate bolster, a microwave, and a jazzy sex room. :pacifier:

If you've spent any time in the AT forum, they would have you thinking the thread title should have been "AT vs. Chuck Norris". :bunnydance:

What kind of boat DID Chuck Norris drive? And did it have outdrives, or did he just extend his legs out the back and kick?
