My first boat that I drove a lot was my dads 21' tri-sonic tunnel hull. Very cool for it's day, small block 65 mph.
First boat I owned at 22 years old was a red Stingray 21' closed bow...I was pimpin'!! Matching short box GMC 4x4.
Current boat 28' eliminator eagle with a whippled 502efi.
Now looking at a Top Gun...does it ever end?

Default Ancient History

Man, a Winner? Haven't heard that name in a million years!

My first boat was a freebee that came along with the 1964 17' wooden Thompson my dad bought in 1971.

The boat was in storage at Higgins Lake, and when we got there it turned out to be a 12' mahogany plywood Switzer with a 35hp Johnson.

It had twin cockpits so you drove from the back seat.

Second boat: 16 ft Wriedt Spoiler (Checkmate knockoff) w/ a 135 hp Evinrude = 60 mph w/ SST prop.

1989 - 20' Thundercraft powered by a Mercruiser 4.3LX and 4" thru-hull exhaust !!!!!

I remember my EXACT words to the salesman: "I just want a boat that will do 45mph. Wow, that one looks fast with those pipe things coming out the back. Do you think 20' is too big??".
