Got to be honest huh? Well, ok:rolleyes:

A 10ft Hobie Cat Mono Hull blowboat when I was 10 or 12 yrs old...:(

Ok. There! Now I said it... ;)

I rolled that boat in the surf one year and totalled it. :D

The next boat I built myself. The Bullet 130. It handled the surf much better. :)

I went through 3 of those Bullets.

Currently in a 28 ft Checkmate w/twin Merc 2.5 EFI Offshores.

I am a Technician for the phone company.

Re: OK members: What was your first boat?

The first I purchased, a 1988 Ski Brendella...I still have it. Growing up we had several, 18ft Power Cat w/ 2 white 70hp Merc's, 14ft Winner with 50hp Merc, 16ft Bomber 115 Johnson. There were others I just can't remember. I drove the Winner all over Old Hickory Lake as a 16-18 year old. We lived on the lake. No dock, but the launch ramp was 1 mile away.

I spent 21 years in the AF and work on the F/A-22 for LM Aero in Marietta now.

1971 Cobalt tri-hull with a 302 Ford....used it on LOTO for 13 years....had 1500 hours on the meter when we sold it, and the boat was mint and solid......best built boat we've owned. We ran the heck out of it. If I could find it, I'd probably buy it back.

I was 26 when I bought my first boat. It was a Four Winns Liberator 211 that I had bought in a basket case. I owned it for six years until I had to have a bigger one.
I now own a Fountain 10 Meter that I bought in a basket case.

Re: OK members: What was your first boat?

Family's first boat was a 1956 or so chartruise green 16' outboard with a Mark 25 Merc. I believe it was one of the early fiberglass boats. No bow lift, used to put blocks in the rear, plowed anyway. A first class POS :( My first boat was a Kindsvater 17' flat bottom drag boat with a 482 BBC with a solid flat tappet cam and a TR2X tunnelram. Great ski boat!

First boat 1978 Glaspar tri hull, Merc 228/Alpha, later hotrod 350 Chevy. Next boat 1985 Formula 272, twin Merc 260/Alpha. Third boat 1989 Formula 311, twin Merc 454 Mag, latter blowers, Gils, ect. 1998 bought a Sonic 28ss, single Merc 502Mag as a second boat for my daughter and son in law. Sold the Sonic and bought a 1997 Black Thunder in 2000. Spent 3 years re-rigging with #5's, 750 EFI engines from Total Marine. Along the way sold the 311. Just about have the Black Thunder like I want it. Might be my last boat. I am 55, and a Fluid Power and Electrical Specialist for Motion Industries, an industrial supply house. A fancy way of saying salesman. We boat @ Lake Cumberland, KY & Panhandle of FL.

1929 Horace E. Dodge watercar... an old woody type boat... what a slug... I bought it on a whim from a girlfriends father... he had a boner for wood boats...this guy had an Owens... another slug...I filled, caulked and sealed, spent a lot of time with spar varnish..... the performance was dismal at best... sold it later to his business partner... :D
