Damn, won't be there till late on the 13th. Looks like the charlotte race is over on the 13th.
Not looking to move down. Just want probably a condo on river/canal with a boat lift. So when Winter comes here. We can take the boat down, leave it and come visit it a few times for a week or so at a time. What's the best marina down around Cape Coral? |
What are you looking for...........storage, mechanic, what kind of services.

Not bringing the boat on this first trip. Just checking things out. |
I've posted on this thread before. But we are really starting to plan on a vacation look around this year and next. Anybody here living in Florida that does HVACR work? Luckily I'm in a trade where I can move anywhere and still have a good job. Just looking to see if there are anybody with similar skill set to share their thoughts?

Storage/ Slip rental. Not sure if this is available but maybe a forklift/crane to pick my boat up off the trailer and set it in the water. So I wouldn't have to dunk my trailer.
Not bringing the boat on this first trip. Just checking things out. They slung it off the trailer because the guy who brought it down didn't want to dunk the trailer either, it cost me $300 to get my 35' Formula off his trailer and it was $300 a month for the rack storage with free ins and outs, but it's behind the house now. |
Thanks for the info. That's where I want it to wind up (behind a condo on a lift). 300 a month doesn't seem to bad for the storage especially with free ins and outs. But 300 just to lift it off the trailer seems steep. I'll look them up when were down there.

Back from my trip to the area. My have things changed since I first visited as a teenager from '78 - '81. Traffic is a complete CF!! I was able to find the old resort we stayed at back in the day. It was called the Eventide back then and is now called Pierview. The Pink Shell was really nice and they were more than accomodating. They upgraded our 1 bedroom suite in the Captiva Villa to a 2 bedroom, 5th floor suite in the main building when on Friday night the first of 5 in a row weddings kept us awake for most the night. The wedding band was good at least! :lolhit: Wife needs her sleep, though. Did not make the trip over to the Cape as I didn't want to waste a day in traffic. I didn't realize just how crazy bad it is down there. Not the sleeply little beach town it once was! Appears the Lani Kai is a popular place on the weekends for boats to anchor just offshore and listen to the bands. Place is a boating Mecca! Saw everything from schooners to 100' + yachts and everything in between. There were always a ton of boats out in the gulf and in the intercostal. I hope North up in the Cape is less congested. Otherwise, as much as I like it there it would be off the list for retirement property. Too many people in too small an area.
