but it was never run to its potential from what i understand ... there was a video of it running to 160 but my old cpu crashed and i lost it i would think IMHO it would run 180 + |
Thanks for the pics, still love it. I am sure it would be a 180 boat if set up properly.
Precision, there is little to no difference in the speed of that boat with the top on or off. definetely not 10 mph. The way these interiors and windshields set up there is almost no wind buffeting in the cockpit. |
As far as ride and speed go, the 36 and 40 are going to be VERY close. I doubt there is any difference in speed. The 40 will ride slightly better. There isn't as much difference in the lengths as you would think because the 36 has a cut down deck which shortens the boat but not the running surface.

44Mti- in all cases it might not be 10 mph, but you can't argue that the aero isn't better.

No, it does have a shorter running surface also, 2' I think but can't remember for sure. He took what is now called a 40, which used to be a 39, and cut the deck down in the front and shortened the running surface to get to 36. Randy basically built this boat for Havazoo. He was told there was a length restriction of 36' to go up and down the channel there, so he built the 36 to be legal there. Yes it still has the same cockpit as all the MTI's of that era. Obviously the new 38 has the new G5 cockpit.

Yes they do, I think pretty much everything built in the last yr or so has the new G5 cockpit. And the bigger boats,48, & 52 also have a new option which is very similar to the G5 except wider, longer and a more rounded windshield but it would be to wide for a 10'6" boat. All of these are now pretty much standard on a new boat, however Randy will build you what ever you want.
