Scratch another builder off my list. Zz454 or 502 marinized keeps sounding better and better to me.

If I ever need an engine built, I'm going with Eddie Young.

I've never talked to the man or bought anything from him, but he seems to get good results and have happy customers.

Plus, he's active on the forums which means a lot to me. It shows he'd want to protect his reputation on here.

I really respected him helping out at Smith Power, too.

You won't go wrong with Eddie Young. Great builder and he keeps in touch and delivers. I am very happy with the rebuild he did for me.

When doing something as major as repowering my boat picking a business to build the engine is extremely important. I thought with this build I made a good decision, I guess not. Communication BOTH ways is important. My bad. There are people who have commented that they had good experiences with Bill, that's great for you. When I first started this build I would call and Bill would tell me all was going well, then as time went on the excuses started. Then it seemed to be harder to get ahold of Bill himself. When I started *****ing about how long things were taking all the sudden it would be dyno'd next week, then next week. When I saw this thread I decided to comment. It seems Ateco is or was a member here, that being the case if he logs in I'm sure he would read a thread with his companies name in the title. That being said after reading my posts one would think he would contact me, if only to give more excuses, tell me to go to he!!, or whatever. I agree with Interceptor it sounds like a face to face is in order. At this point I feel that Ateco is the Cobra Power of Waukegen Ill.

That's bs, I can't believe how many guys have issues with engine builders....I use Victory engines in Cleveland for my machining and I have never been let down, work is always 100% and as long as you pay you have your stuff exactly when you want it..... Sorry to hear the issues
