"Ultrapaws rugged boots" you put on your dog's feet, they work great! I got large for front and medium for rear paws on my 54 lb German Shorthair Pointer, she does fine with them, and they have traction so no slip on shiny gelcoat on front of boat either.

Protects vinyl well and no worrying about a big towel falling off etc!

I got this Dog Life Preserver to use when she needs extra protection, she never fell off boat but good to have it, and you can pick the dog up by the Handle on the back, in case falls in water; it matches color of the Ultrapaws too

Cute but not for a water dog (not mine anyway), he'd freak out if his webbed feet weren't "felling" the water and if we put a life preserver on him.

Another cool idea is to have a cover made out of sunbrella (or similar material) done to look just like your sun pad. I had thought about doing that to our Velocity, however I now own a Center Console / no sunpad...

We use these in the cockpit of our Center Console and previously used one on the swim platform of our Velocity. On the swim platform it served 3 purposes, it was softer on the feet than the antiskid fiberglass, it provided better slip protection, and also made it so people could get any sand or seaweed off their feet before entering boat.

I looked into this last season, I was PLANNING on getting some Sunbrella material custom fit to go over the whole sundeck and even cover the rear seat but the cost from the local sew shop was scary.
I think a Fat/Giant towel or two will suffice for now.

I never said it was a cheap idea...... I had received a quote of about $300 to do the one on my Velocity and it would have matched the two color sun pad.. But my dogs scuffed the carbon fiber pattern before I had a chance to have it made, so once scuffed I figured the hell with the cover at that point.....

Nope, not cheap at all.
Quite possibly the BEST fix for a possible problem though.
Sorry to hear yours got scuffed, that's too bad.
I guess in the grand scheme of things, $300.00 ain't that bad after all.
