Number 3 and 4 bearing spun, all others and mains so far look good I don't think it was starving for oil, unless those cylinders known for it but I never read that, I am leaning towards bolt or machining issue maybe? Not sure gonna tear down I hope the rest tomorrow...

You gonna fix that POS or just keep typing on the computer?

J/K, I drove by Friday after the gym, but I didn't stop cause you weren't outside. I'll call next time.

What crankshaft was in this? Looking at the edge wear in picture 4 I wonder if an H bearing should have been used and a P bearing was used. Hard to tell from the pictures but I see a couple of bearings with heavy edge wear by the chamfer.

+1 that rod bearing looks like one side of it is chauffeured like the crank made it into a h style bearing..and yes i agree,,all h-beam rods i have used have the h-style bearing in them..

YUp, looks like PBM uses the H series in their short block BBC kits with forged crank.

If they are P bearings then assembly error is clearly to blame. I can't imagine the motor even turned easily with a socket and rod side clearance would have been next to nothing, but I will bet it was never checked. It will be interesting to see if you have the same results on the other motor.

Bearing stamped FM assume federal mogul, I will get more pics up later who knows the guy that built these was dumb, I will be using Clevite and probably coated like I normally do, I like the coated ones in case oil gets contaminated it helpskeep alive...
