Before getting back into boats again when i was a teenager I had a 440 69 Roadrunner .. My buddies who had Hot Camaros and . Mustangs etc used to bust my balls about my car being apart half the time. My reply was if you used half the power that you built into your motors half the time that i do your chit would break every once in a while too.God I beat on that car nothing like a fearless 17 year old with a built 440 4 speed.
I didn't get the name "Quickchange" for nothing.... 4 hours on my stuff is like 30 on others....

That's no Fun.

Either buy a smaller boat you can afford to run WFO or buy a sailboat.

My vote is build them right , put some big solid roller cams in them, some tunnel ram intakes, dry headers, and spin those babies to 6300-6500. Pull the trs off jam some number 5's off the back with some standoff boxes. What is all this detuning and part throttle talk??

This just came today; read the article on Optimization of clearance design for high performance engine bearings. Maybe should start a new thread on engine bearings and clearances.
Wow, at one point in the article it mentions oil temps going above the max usable temps for synthetic oils = 500*. And we were worried about our oil temp gauges creeping above 250*.
