Thoughts and prayers to all involved, the videos are pretty terrifying in themselves, I can't imagine what that ride felt like. Just the sounds in this one give me the willies..

As per Speed on the waters FB post
"Mike Fiore is in critical but stable condition. His family has asked not to detail specifics of his injuries, but he is expected to recover" |
Yes I am pretty sure Joel was the one that got out of the boat first.
Horrible accident and I hope for good full recovery. Mike is a strong person and if anyone can come out of this OK it's him. So releived they are both alive. That in its self is amazing. The videos are crazy. That canopy held up amazingly well considering the impact and speeds. Mike |

Both Joel and Mike are in great hands at top medical/trauma facilities.
Out of respect to each of them, there family and close friends it would be ideal not to speculate incorrect information on the extent of there injuries and treatment at this time. They appreciate all the thougths. prayers and support Doc |
Judging from the videos I've seen, that must have been terrifying to be in that boat.. I just spoke to Mike a few days ago.. My thoughts and prayers are with all involved..
|
Our hopes and prayers go out to my friend Mike Fiore, Joel and their families.

Sorry to hear about this accident. Will offer my mass this weekend for Mike and his quick recovery. He is a tough competitor, if anyone can come out of this situation stronger, he is the guy.
|
This was literally like a coin toss. They landed "heads up" thank God. Luck! Big Balls! Thank God both of you are alive.
Absolutely amazing, prayers for a quick recovery. |
Were there 3 people in this boat or just two?

Matt Trulio from Speed on Water JUST posted Mike is in Critical but stable condition and is expected to recover. Extent of Injuries is not being released by the family. So I am guessing..... He was the one moved while on the flat board and flown out. In a separate news report it stated Mike was flown directly to Columbia.
The other occupant was walking on his own and moving at the time of the accident... and it was stated in the reports he was taken to ambulance to Osage Beach |
Prayers for the men in the boat, and their family's ..
|
Prayers to all involved...

Prayers sent for that crew and their families
|
Saw them at the start, but didn't see the crash. Race control came over the radio and asked all of us at the start to shut down. I cringed when they said there had been a crash. SO relieved both men survived... that is one horrible crash. The race officials didn't let the FAST boats run till the rescue chopper was ready to go again. Good call.
Prayers to both men. Get well! |
Praying for a speedy recovery
|
Prayers for both drivers and their families. Must of been a hell of a ride.
|
Prayers to all involved. Glad this cat landed on it's feet in the end. God was watching over them on this one.
|
sad to see, Prayers sent

Here are the frame by frame pictures...
http://lakeexpo.com/lake_events/oute...9bb2963f4.html Simply amazing, it looks like a kid's toy in a pool!! Hard to fathom there's two human beings inside that boat!! |
Wow... miracle is the only word.
|
Praying for the familes of both men. That was horrifying to watch live on tv. It looked like they were about to set a new benchmark speed for a big cat with 1350's.
|
The video with the sound of them clipping the nose and then landing made the hair on my neck stand tall. Then looking at the pics of what the boat looked like afterwards makes you say a silent prayer to the man upstairs and say thanks for looking out for the two onboard. Im all for adventure but that is one ride I don't think I ever want to take. Hope for a speedy recovery for Mike and Joel.

what a crash. hope for the best. when thinking about that, planes take off at similar speed so very thin margin between running wet and blowing over like that... prayers again... |
When you see the impact photo, I can only say that it is miracle the boat ended up right side up. Scary and prayers sent!

Good Morning Phil.... |
WOW! Amazing that could be survived. Wishing both men a full and speedy recovery.
|
Mike and his company have done a lot when it comes to advancement of hulls and speed, and after his last accident and now this I only hope he will be around to enjoy what he has done for this sport. I just don't want to see anyone getting hurt in a sport I love so much! Speedy recover to both guys and prayers to the family for having go through this difficult time.
|
One thing to keep in mind is Mike is going to study this boat and with his experience in building a safe boat and living through a crash you know he will be making improvements on what was already good.
Everyone will benefit with improved safety. |
knowing mike i,ll bet hes hard at it thinking of movable wing up front to prevent blowovers its time for our sport to rethink the saftey and survivability in these boats .....there very lucky to have lost so much speed in the air and it rolled upright after landing upside down thats beyond luck !
