New shortblock, medium parts, I get 7k pretty quick. Compstar rods/crank -$1600. Dart block $2500. Je pistons $800. That's $4900 and you have no fasteners or machine time.

Then again, you may get better than retail pricing.

I was finding dart block, scat rotating assembly, forged crank and pistons assembled 5500.... that's what got me thinking..

$4000 off ebay if you assemble. Thats tough to beat and looks like good parts unless you really plan on twisting it up.

I wouldn't buy off ebay and assemble, I would redo mine then I know machining is how I want it...

Where the heck were you at a while back. I let a pair freshly machined (correctly) with new cranks, bearings and some extra stuff go for <$7000.
Gotta get better at that selling used stuff.

I tell you what that's some tempting prices, I can buy 2, sell off my good shortblock in parts and my other block get some cash back... them 582's are tempting...
