So what did the original 90 mph Cigs have for power. Hitting 82 with 750s is a long way from 90 still. Why are the 38s faster than the 35s?

am surprised at the HP some of you guys need to hit 80. After our motors were last rebuilt she'd hit 79 on gps on a cool day. Dave at MDG said they were 600 HP or so if iirc. bravo boat

Here is a thread with a lot of talk about the 90mph cigs. Appears it was 850 hawks staggered.

So what type of speeds would be expected out of a Cafe Carbon 70 with stock 502 MPI's and Bravos with a 1:5 gear ratio?

My gut would tell me 64-66mph. But from what I been learning, see what a stepped pad bottom 35 Fountain would run with those engines, and thats about where your Cafe should run. So about 73mph.

When I was looking I kept going back and forth between t/s and a big powered straight bottom. I was actually interested in cigrocket's old top gun, and just love the lines of the older straight bottom. In the end though, i just don't think you can beat going 85 with stock mild na power.

Need help with measurements of the 35 Cafe and Top Gun for the purpose of laying out a new lift if I pull the trigger on a second boat. I shoe horned the 370SS like a glove, see picture of how I laid it out 10 years ago. I took the layout from the brochure and scaled it down on the printer to lay out and design the dock. The bulkhead and lift guy were weary but turned out very clean. The new lift will be more standard, not accessed off a fixed pier but off floater, beamless style I would think. Does anyone have a to scale print such as in my picture or maybe the same as I did off a brochure and scale it with printer?
What I am looking for is: Overall Length Width Cockpit rear sun pad http://i1289.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1416788368 |

Its a little nerve racking at 5500 RPM, LOL, engines are screaming pretty good, but it has definitely happened .....and more than once at that!
