I like the NAS-CAT second one. I would lose the background color and only use the letters in outline two tone. thicker black first with a thin red just outside of the first and keep the grey shading like in the Nascar logo.

But like the man said Michael it is your show!

Marginmn 04-02-2015 11:28 AM

I suppose you've already considered and ruled out GORDON FAN :D

Cash Bar 04-02-2015 02:18 PM

The last NAS-TECH or BTA. Both are nice and fit the boat well.
Get crackin.

NASCAT 04-02-2015 03:22 PM

I have to be honest guys I'm leaning towards BTA b/c with NASCAT I only changed 1 letter the R to a T & utilized the exact color spectrum but in this case I feel as if it starts to get lost in translation. To OSO members they get it if they know me in person or simply from the forum but in the real world I'm not sure anyone will draw the parallel from the black or gray scale & the use of just the 1st 3 letters NAS.

The feedback is very much appreciated as has been your support of this thread over the past several months.

Trailer build pics coming next...........

Pics of the boat 100% complete & some basic performance #'s by Sunday the 12th.

Have a Happy & Safe Easter

kickin32 04-02-2015 03:59 PM

What about putting the BTA on the side with the little red in it?

thirdchildhood 04-02-2015 04:08 PM

Black Tie Affair! You are right about the association between Nascat and Nascar and this boat has way too much class for that!

NASCAT 04-02-2015 05:50 PM

I did consider something on the sides at one time but think it looks cleaner without.

ILMORdude 04-02-2015 09:57 PM

The Nascat ship(s) have sailed. My vote: BTA. The new unit is a classy b$tch

Evolution Trailer Technologies

Here are the beginnings of a custom fit all aluminum welded C-Channel trailer from www.evolutiontrailer.com/ located in Punta Gorda, FL. They are best known for their high quality Military Spec boat trailers but Evolution Trailer Technologies spares no expense when it comes to the engineering, technology & attention to detail they put into their recreational boat trailers.

I made the trek to Evolution Trailers the same weekend I toured the Nor-Tech factory w/ SportBoats Marine back in Oct 2014. Paul the owner & founder of Evolution Trailers was nice enough to open the doors to his workshop up to me on the weekend, taking the time to educate me about the Companies early days & how they've gotten to where they are today. I was very impressed w/ the trailers quality front to rear, not to mention the many unique & special features they've integrated into their trailers at no extra charge.

Marginmn 04-02-2015 10:06 PM

How are they priced vs a MYCO?

My trailer will have a combination of UHMW bunks & carpeted bunks. All Evolution Trailers w/ UHMW bunks are custom fit to the boats hull not just built from CAD drawings & measurements on file. Carston Koopman who oversees Evolution's sales & marketing has spent countless hrs w/ me taking the time to make sure that every question I had was answered.

I thought they were very competitive, offered excellent personal service, the ability to customize + offered some unique features taking welded aluminum trailers to the next level.

USCG Boat Trailers

I learned a valuable lesson during my site visit to Evolution Trailer Technologies and that was NEVER judge a book by it's cover. I visited Evolution on a weekend without any staff on hand just Paul the owner. Their facility is very modest, call it functional, not fancy but this very same facility has won bids from US Gov't agencies like the USCG and fulfills orders for 500+ totally custom designed & engineered specialty boat trailers. Those trailers must meet all the traditional Mil Spec standards but in the pic below you'll see that there were very specific size & weight limitations required in order to be transportable.

Electronics install taking place today / tomorrow.

Final inspection & a sea trial scheduled for this weekend, weather permitting.

Pretty pleased w/ what I'm seeing!

SO much awesome in that boat.

Pic number 2 looks like you provided them with some restrictor plates!

Really nice choice on the trailer. Boat looks awesome. Have fun with the test drive. :drool1:

NASCAT 04-08-2015 09:12 PM

I'm very pleased w/ my trailer choice. Evolution's ability to provide one on one personal service & their attention to detail scored very high w/ me.

Something else that I consider a Win, Win, Win for me that others considering a new or used Nor-Tech can benefit from too is that the Dealer- SportBoats Marine, Boat Manufacturer- Nor-Tech & Trailer Manufacturer Evolution are all within 40 mins of one another. They all have a good working relationship w/ one another so should the need arise for me to have any warranty or other matters addressed it's basically 1 stop shopping for me.

This weighed in heavy on all 3 decisions & have already paid dividends especially when it comes to Mark Bonafide of SportBoats & the 3 of trips he made to Nor-Tech checking on my boats progress while also providing guidance throughout the entire build.

Please speak to the weather gods for me, forecast doesn't look very promising!

pstorti 04-08-2015 09:46 PM

Weather doesn't look bad over here this weekend, bring it to Miami!

http://www.windguru.cz/int/index.php...494&sty=m_menu

http://weather.local10.com/

Some possible T-storms around but 90% of the time they are out west. I can't tell you how many times we spent a beautiful weekend on the water only to talk to people on monday who said it was raining all weekend inland.

NASCAT 04-08-2015 09:52 PM

10-4 but keep in mind I'll be on the west coast. I assume the 90* temps are the force behind the afternoon thunderstorms.

CLA 04-09-2015 08:53 AM

Actually that's my "paying extra close attn, I have no clue where I am or where I'm going" face..Please add a side order of "this is a new boat & I don't know where anything is" expression too!

Maiden voyage

3 Attachment(s)
Yes the weather cooperated allowing us to maximize my visit. A few pics for my brief trip to Sportboats. A HUGE thank you to John, Mark & Ray of SportMarine who basically dropped everything & made me their #1 priority this weekend. They've made both the build of my boat & this weekend possible.

I also had a chance to meet Carston & Carl of Evolution Trailers, they made the hour trek to the ramp where we launched in order to test fit the UHMW bunk system. Trailer looked great & it will pull the Nor-Tech proudly.

Before you ask I don't really have any performance #'s. We did run it up to 78 w/ 3 peeps & 150 gals of fuel but ultimately this was really the boats maiden voyage so it was much more of a systems check run. Several hrs were spent at Sportboats reviewing a pre-delivery checklist. When I arrived we spent time going over the boat bow to stern& did a brief orientation of some of the systems & equipment. Fri. We certainly maximized the day from sun up to sun down. We blasted over to Cabbage Key for a late lunch. Pretty cool place.

Today Eric Belisle (Taxman) joined me for a few hrs this morning since I was destined to get lost w/o him. Just a laid back few hrs cruising around & taking in the area.

Hope to make it back next week in time to make the FMO Sarasota event.

Ron- thank you sir.

PS- while I've barely had any time to appreciate and or enjoy the electronics that your guys installed, I was very impressed w/ the installation. Rigging is first class, I need to post a few pics and I will once I get the boat back home.
Electronics Unlimited definitely gets a big thumbs up from me for sales, service & installation. :Score-101010:
