NASCAT ! The premium will only increase due to the higher cost of the 400 hp motors.

To keep the sponsors happy with NASCAT, this is a Kobalt head direct from Lowes.

fastdonzi 03-10-2015 07:30 PM

What are all the White Water hoses for? washdown? Livewells? Ballast??

I agree, Nor-Tech keeps things pretty tidy.

FastDonzi- you got me, looks like I have a little studying to do once I get her back home. Too proud to ask any questions of course, I'll just trace everything back to its origin then just guess what it does.

No ballast tanks but I do have fresh water wash down but it's located in the starboard gunwale.

Rumor has it she could be complete by the end of the month. Hearing Merc 350's are in transit, not sure if my name be on any of the first to arrive but I can't be too far behind.

Nate5.0 03-10-2015 07:58 PM

I love love love this build.

Thank you for sharing it with us all. Always fun to see a start to finish and even more so when the boat is as beautiful as yours

Hope you have it on the water and enjoying it very soon

NASCAT 03-10-2015 08:10 PM

Nate- really appreciate the kind words.

Like anything else It's FOR SALE if you want a 340 w/ Merc 350's NOW!!

This has been such a great experience for me, I'd build another w/ Mark, John & Terry in a heartbeat.

SLOWRIDE-388 03-10-2015 08:16 PM

Great build. Congrats on the 350s. This boat is going to haul. I loved the 300 verados we had.

NASCAT 03-10-2015 08:20 PM

Thanks SR 388, as I've mentioned before I wasn't really after any more top end but was strongly advised that 350's would be a Must Have from a resale standpoint. I would hate to hear " I love everything about this boat BUT wish it had 350's" you get my point, sort of a catch 22.

Thanks to Bill63 I'll be spending much more time on the water & less learning about my boat the hard way due to him reducing my learning curve.:cool-smiley-027:

Boat looks sweet, looking at the pics I bet your now super super excited.

Bill63, my 34 CC will be back at NT last part of April through mid may before a trip out to the Bahamas first of June. Its been about 8 years since I ran my 36 NT there on the west coast of FL at a Poker run. If your around second weekend in May you want to get together for some boating and show me around? Im trying to drag Sobo out also.

just tell them to copy what Cigarette is doing, they really have the ergonomics perfect. It amazes me how many boat manufacturers just put in flat seats and backrests and think it will be comfortable.

Boat is looking great! We must have the same taste because its turning out almost exactly what my dream build would be. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Its great to read stories about the dealings of a great builder, compared to the nightmare stories its pretty clear where our OSO dollars should be spent

Stimleck- great point, the unfortunate part being that we the consumer may not be able to afford the brand boat whose manufacturing experience everyone raves about or maybe they don't offer a style, model or size that meets our needs. Yes I'm having a great experience but is someone wants a cuddy cabin or a 36' performance vee they too deserve the same experience I'm having only Nor-Tech doesn't offer those models. That's not to say that SportBoats Marine doesn't rep another line that may meet the buyers criteria but I guess what I'm trying to say is every OSO'r isn't going to be able to support the manufacturers who are earning others business in a positive way simply due to economics & product line offerings.

FD- I appreciate your endorsement

I actually own a few Red LifeLines from the Skater, Nor-Tech provides a safety kit w/ every new boat so that will yield me another 5 or 6 bright orange horseshoe life vests bringing me to nearly 10 total!!:bananalove: Ultimately I'll probably invest in a few Auto Inflatables but I haven't gotten that far yet. I looked for vendors at the Miami Boat Show but didn't really find what I was after.

I can't take full credit for the overall scheme, I pulled it together from several boats I've seen over the years & in pictures online.

Not the best but few pics from today, Merc's due to land next week. Expecting the SeaDek flooring to be installed next week as well.
Hang engines, finalize rigging & punchlist items completed all by Easter.

You can't see it in the pictures but the lounger has some lumbar support behind the knees providing a little more comfortable seating position. Nowhere near as aggressive as a Cig or MTI but certainly an improvement over the traditional flat lounger found in the Nor-Tech 340 & 390. Sportboats was instrumental in getting this custom built to my liking which has required several trips to Nor-Tech over the past 3 weeks. If I'm not mistaken this portion of my interior was completed in house at Nor-Tech & not at Premiere but the match is perfect.

mikebrls 03-20-2015 04:59 PM

That"s going to be one fun boat :)

NASCAT 03-20-2015 05:01 PM

SportBoats & Nor-Tech are also working on a custom bow bench filler cushion that is hard backed & won't require the pole or floor pedestal mount to be supported but will be sturdy enough to stand on. I had the floor receiver installed just to provide me w/ future options.

bill63 03-20-2015 06:14 PM

Michael Let me know how you like that flooring ? I am hearing it's not shoe friendly.

Yes it's a soft product BUT no real worry for me bc no one will live to tell they actually wore shoes of ANY kind on my boat. :duel:

sorry for the hijack but what have you heard about his flooring

NASCAT 03-20-2015 10:20 PM

It's soft nonabsorbent, closed cell EVA material.

I received a 12" x 24" sample of it in the std thickness is 6mm, They also offer 8mm as well as 13mm.
I left my cool gray over black sample outside my front door all weekend & intentionally walked across it for 2 days. It started to have that dingy look to it. This concerned me, not that anyone will be wearing shoes then getting on board but even dirty bare feet could leave a footprint. Alex of Callaway Customs recommended me using some soft scrub and a sponge to remove any remaining dirt & he was right, the soft scrub worked great returning the sample to like new condition.

Sea-Dek cost about 1/3rd Plas-Dek & comes w/ a self adhesive back where as Plas-Dek must be glues down. Should a section or area of Sea-Dek become stained or permanently damaged, just peel it up & order a replacement piece for next to nothing.

kickin32 03-20-2015 10:22 PM

ok Thanks

NASCAT 03-23-2015 12:01 PM

Sea-Dek

2 Attachment(s)
I've been working closely w/ Alex from Callaway Customs & Nor-Tech on my Sea-Dek flooring. Going with streaked Cool Gray over Black which will give it a Black edge & 1" inset Black 1/4" wide outline.
Faux Teak in the cabin only.

bill63 03-23-2015 02:54 PM

You should be hitting the water soon !!!

NASCAT 03-23-2015 03:01 PM

Boats completion is falling on Easter week which I already have plans for so I'm hoping to see if see actually floats the following week.

bill63 03-23-2015 03:05 PM

I will be down easter week so i can shake it down for you :D:D

NASCAT 03-23-2015 03:20 PM

You laugh but who better than to put her thru her paces than an experienced Nor-Tech owner!??
