How fast is a cigarette with 750 s

Looking at a cigarette top gun 2004 has 750s with ext boxes 136 gears how fast u think 90-95 seller says 105 seems large to me

t500hps 01-04-2015 06:23 PM

105 on a good day seems realistic. Not with 4 adults and a full tank.

Unlimited jd 01-04-2015 06:23 PM

525 boat almost runs 90

Sydwayz 01-04-2015 06:28 PM

It would help to know what model, and if the motors are staggered or side by side.

SkaterMike82 01-04-2015 06:30 PM

He mentioned above 04 Topgun with that being said it's side by side as the 39 came out in 05. 105 is doable.

Well its a Cigarette period. It has to be over 100mph

12meter joe 01-04-2015 07:00 PM

68-72 isn't out of the question

cigrocket 01-04-2015 07:12 PM

105 isn't out of the question with the TS and that power. 600hp runs 94. I would think another 150hp would put it in the 105 range.

Hi Jim D. .

Greatguy66 01-04-2015 08:08 PM

85mph-95mph yes 105mph NO!No fuel a midget driving NO!:duel:

88bullet 01-04-2015 08:13 PM

Buddy had 750 cobras and bravos on boxes in a 02 t/s and was over the c-note. Sold it to a member on here 2 yrs ago

Has to be the same boat this guy is referring to, it's listed in the classified. It should easily run over 100 I would think

ICDEDPPL 01-04-2015 09:26 PM

Throw 900hp at a Cig and see how they come alive, check out my recall, the needle went around twice

I been on 38 TS with 525's went 84 all day long.... better go more then 100 with 750's!!

Griff 01-05-2015 01:31 AM

For comparison, the 700 SCI 39's run about 105mph. The 39's are are slightly faster than 38's.

Only because Cobra builds their 750's with used 1075 parts! :D

Donziben 01-05-2015 08:19 AM

As griff said, a 39' w/stock 700's runs 105. Staggered motors are good for about 2mph. Based off my 38 w/525's, runs 86mph, and I've been in two different '05 39's w/525's, both those boats ran 88mph...... So I would say 100-105 is very realistic.

Stuckonstupid 01-05-2015 10:40 AM

The boat you are referring to does run just north of 100. I don't know the seller, but I know people who do and who have been on the boat.

Yea but only in 20-25 footers to get some air under the haul

cig92 01-05-2015 02:20 PM

I have driven the 02 tg mentioned earlier, it was a friends boat. Red white and blue boat now in loto. 598/725 cobras, xr 1.50 on boxes from day one. I personally drove the boat to 104 mph. The boat was not striped down or light by any means. It was a drive breaking machine

Ran-Dom 32 01-05-2015 02:53 PM

What would 750HP do in a straight bottom gun? 80-85 Maybe? just curious .. but its no wonder why there are so many straight bottoms guns for sale, is a TS that much faster.. 20 MPH

mine is a 750/ssm3 boat and runs low 80's with a chop and light on fuel. a bravo boat is faster than my ssm3 boat but not nearly as reliable. yes a t/s bravo is that much faster

Wonder how much of that speed gain is the steps and how much is materials and technology progress? My buddy's 33' PowerPlay 525s conventional hull did 88 with stock props.

I saw this boat run on Seneca Lake when it was in NYS. All I can say is that it sounded NASTY and ran like a raped ape.

sre 01-05-2015 06:47 PM

Buddy has one with 725 Zuls. Runs 98-100 any day.

Yes, that is the boat that is now at LOTO. We service and store it at PBC. It is an awesome boat, runs great(a little over 100mph), and sounds really p!ssed off!! :)

Donziben 01-05-2015 09:29 PM

That boat is not for sale that I know of. I think the OP was asking about an'04 with that power. Is the OP Darr?

caseyh 01-05-2015 09:57 PM

Have seen the merc race view or what ever it's called. 98 on a ts with 525s

Idareya1 01-05-2015 10:02 PM

Yes I was referring to the boat for sale in classifieds think it's an 03. Is that a stepped hull? I was thinking drives must not last next question what does this boat weigh?

TS are good for approx 15% increase.

Need to compare apples to apples. A bravo 750 hp flat bottom runs probably close to 90 mph maybe more. As mentioned not nearly as reliable as an ssm boat but realistically its about a 10-14 mph difference between stepped and non step (104 vs 90)

Those are some of the faster straight bottom boats.

CIG3 01-06-2015 01:14 PM

I agree that the 33 Power PLay is an awesome boat but to compare top speeds to a 38 Top Gun is apples and oranges. There is about 3k difference in weight. Comparing the Top Gun to the 38 Power Play would be more fair.

the deep 01-06-2015 01:20 PM

Darr plays you guys like a fiddle . :band:

ICDEDPPL 01-06-2015 04:17 PM
