Brian at Medina Mountain Motors in Creston Ohio has always done my engine work. Been very happy with them to date. Quality work and they stand behind everything they do. They get the job done right and quickly. My time is very valuable so I don't have the luxury of chasing down engine builders for a due date or worry about phone calls worth of excuses why the job isn't done. They have never dissapointed me. And their engines stay together that's the most important .

I first ran in to Bob from Bullet Engines at the 1000 Islands Poker Run. He had a performance marine engine sitting on a pallet in his display. It was impressive. We talked about it and then he asked if I'd like to hear it run. Well yes! Next thing he turns on a garden house, hooks up a battery and fires the engine. It was awesome! I visited his shop in Kingston and made a deal to rebuild my Gen IV 454's. They turned out great, increased HP, fired immediately when I put them in the boat and ran flawless for years.

And the way I look at it, he's actually cheaper than anybody else. I'd rather pay a little more for a pair of engines that will last three times as long!
+3....If you are in the Midwest, then Wesseldyke is worth the trip. You don't see Dave Wesseldyke advertising his craft...he keeps a low profile and lets his work speak for himself and his reputation and gets all of his work by word of mouth.

He not only knows about building reliable marine offshore engines, but he also knows how they need to be rigged, plumbed, and set up in a boat...very inteligent and incredibly gifted and talented pole barn farm boy that doesn't throw curve balls, cannot say enough about Dave in one post.

Uhhh....well, not quite yet, bro----mine are the ones that are actually being built right now, but no worries, I know yours are definitely in the line-up.

(I know what you meant, I just could not resist) Let's get together for a beer sometime

I'd like to post a positive experience with Young Performance Marine. I purchased a boat last winter in OH and drove it down to Eddie in Mt. Juliet, TN . I didn't quite know what I had just purchased and I'm not mechanically inclined to know what exactly was needed to make the boat trouble free. I put a lot of trust in Eddie and he delivered. He was referred by a friend as someone who could look at the whole boat and not just the engine to get everything working together and reliable. I purchased the boat on the reputation of the hull design and price and knew it needed some additional money thrown at it to make it lake ready. To be fair and not a commercial for Young Performance Marine the boat took a little longer than expected to be completed however he delivered exactly what I asked for. I dealt with another high performance engine builder years ago with my previous boat so a bar had been set. Eddie did a great job with the boat. An observation that made the build a lot of fun was the weekly calls to Eddie to see what was going on with boat. Eddie would always give me an update on what had been found on the boat for the week and we would talk about our options and cost of the different directions we could take to try an satisfy the goal of building a reliable, fast, family pleasure boat. Eddie Young gets two thumbs up from me.

I forgot about these guys. I knew they did car stuff, but are they experienced with marine engines and requirements?

May be a viable option in the future....
