All three gentlemen I spoke with told me that while, yes, the 575 Raptor was developed for the inboard towboat market they are interested in getting it into the high-performance segment. They could not show me pricing, but the did say the 575 will have a significantly lower cost than existing powerplants in the go-fast segment at the same power level.

That's great to hear. Now the question is will they be able either build a drive or pair it with one on the market and still keep the cost down. Thanks Matt for all you do to keep us informed.

Paired with an Arneson package this would make a nice marriage.

so is it roush getting involved or is it the whole ford motor company? and how much is ford going to put into the marine game, are they going all out or going to have a few engines here and there.

I would love to see a pair of these mated to some Arneson's in a 30 Skater.

Indmar is not looking back as Ford is the pathway for them. The have tested these Raptor engines and have one with 2000 hours on it and still testing it in Florida. They like them and proclaim they are bullet proof. They even did drag comparisons against the LSA GM engine and the raptor smokes it in their wakeboard apps for pulling power and acceleration. Top speed is not Indmar segment period. They have been thinking about other areas of the marine market to match up their engines. So far nothing but the wakboard market.

The next market for them might be the jetboat market like what you see in the NW as Indmar / Barr is moving engines up in a new facility of the USA (NW). Indmar / Barr have taken over a huge warehouse to supply engines in that area that was once held by another Marine engine manufacturer. Look for possible Jetboats with their engines in the NW coming but not 100 %, its all up in the air at this point. You heard it first right here. They Imdmar is growing bigger everyday

Indmar worked with Ford and Roush Racing to bring forth the new Raptor line of marine engines.

I've been contemplating having a 30' cat built with a pair of the non supercharged 440 motors for the past couple of months. I gotta say I really like the Ford 6.2, just trying to figure out which drives would match best and how bad insurance is going to rake me over the coals......gotta admit though it'd be nice to be the only person on the water with that setup.

They're already in jet boats, and more going in every day. The pricing is very attractive right now too.
