is everyone disappointed with mercury's lack of progression or are their lack of competition giving now competition on their prices? just wondering what the reason is for a new good competition

Competition is good in any industry. These motors also have 5 year warranties. I'd guess the supercharged motor should compete speed wise with the Ilmor MV8. Both small blocks with similar power. I'd also think the supercharged motor might have a little more torque. I'd like to see a test with a pair of the Indmar 575's, Ilmor MV8-570's, and Merc 565's in the same hull. It would be interesting to see which performs better all around and on the top end.

I understand they BARR sister company of Indmar has GM LS in jet boats across the USA especially in NW and Canada, They are in the process (Indmar) for shipping engine packages to a new facilty in the NW that a OEM competitor had and lost it. Plus they Indmar are shipping their new Ford engine packages as well to the NW.

Many of the power packages that say Indmar on the hood are sold thru their sister company Barr Marine. Indmar themselves only deal basically with majority wakeboard boat manufacturers so far. Barr Marine deals with the rest of the smaller boat builders for a couple of motors here and their. Indmar really will not sell you one engine - they will send you over to Barr marine especially for repowers and one off boats.

I have not seen an Indmar FORD RAPTOR in other boats than the current wakeboard boats mainly Malibu wakeboard boats. Indmar just got their service training set up 3 weeks ago for their Ford Raptor engine packages as I know this because us Indmar techs have been waiting for it.

I'll send ya some pics. I tried to use a 400 for a repower about a month ago, but it was too long for the engine compartment with the way the coolers are mounted. I just spec'd a pump for a new boat build with a 575 last night. there's several other new boats being buit with them right now, and a few already on the water.

I guess they started in with Ford already for the jetboat, send me the pics and I will ask them. I Know a truck load of Fords already went up to the NW. I wonder if it is the testing stage for these apps as a partnership with Indmar and the jetboat manu to see how well they do..

Not a Canadian thing, they're being used in the US too. The boat I helped with the pump selection on last night is in Colorado. The owner of the company has one in his boat too. They don't need a transmission either. If someone wants to have one converted for a stern drive, it would not be that difficult.

Well for some reason I forgot all about this and we talked about it. So I will add, Indmar does have other apps that their Ford Raptor is going into very currently. This is current of 2015.

For one they have an all painted white Ford Raptor engine packages for inboard boats and then they have the same 400, 440 and the 575 SC for other apps like the Jetboats and Inboards. This line is Called Indmar Raptor Gemini Series. I forgot they gave me this brochure to read. I just pulled it out
