I agree that aluminum boats can be quite tough. Aside from Metalshark's 40' fearless, I have not seen any designs that are made for high speed. Most are quite heavy, slow and very expensive. If there were a builder in the SE that makes offshore race style hulls with comparable performance, enhanced durability over FRP all at a competitive price point, I'd be leaning heavily that way. Unfortunately, I have never heard of any such manufacturer. Any ideas or references?
Look at the Scarab hull's from Dan, else your going to need something with some beam to handle the weight and you know the saying.. Good, Fast or Cheap, pick two.

who is recommending formula for rough seas? Anyone read the 382 hull seperation thread? before anyone says anything, I've owned a Fastech and it didn't hold up to even Long Island waters. It was delaminating at the helm.
I'd recommend active thunder, cigarette, or Apache. All reputable brands that have great track records.

I'm thinking troll but I have a genius idea for you that would probably fulfill all your size , speed and rough water capabilities criteria . Before I share this idea I have to ask .
How many boats total ?
Is there a time frame on all the boats being built ?
Are you just looking bare hulls on trailers unrigged ?
What kind of warranty are you expecting on hulls ?

Powerplay? Build I/O & Outboard, CC & flatdeck styles, known for great rough water ride, boat lengths: 23, 33 (35 with platform, you pick), 38 (42 with platform). They are being laid up by Mystic now so you can build them in fiberglass or carbon/kevlar, step-hull or straight bottom.
