I seem to have made a Mistake here
Reggie Did in Fact Invent the Step Bottom .The Screw Propeller, and the Prop-Nut! And is Currently Personally Instrumental in the Resurrection of the New Orleans Pimp Look-alike Clothing /Jewerly Line .. :D |

Just a few thoughts...
First when you pay to store or dry stack a boat they count, and you pay for the swim platform, and all they way to the tip of the bow. So If they call it a 38' that's what it is. No one is *****ing about Comparing a Founatin, or Cigarette, or anything else to say a magnum that's 4' or 5' wider !!! Second and back to the topic for this thread. Reggie is whining that they cheated him. The rules are made for everyone !! What's the purpose of being the fastest boat on the water if you're alone, or the fastest boat at a race if there's no one to race ??? How many people would go out spend tens of thousands of dollars to go a little faster, if they had no speedo, and no one around them could even catch them in the first place ??? I believe that Fountain builds a great boat, so why doesn't Reggie come over to APBA prove it, and stop tearing offshore racing apart ? |
Its been a while since we had a good Reggie pissin match bash session!!!!
I like Burger King over m. don. any time!!! Sorry too old, send me a few dozen so I can do my own taste test. I may switch!!! sell that sonic yet?? |
Too Old...I forgot your a BK guy, why was I thinking Mc Don?
Firget the taste test, I am stickin with BK! I agree, people have a tough time seperating the boat from Reggie himself. I think he has made that hard to do. Unfortunately it creates no middle ground. I used to like them, Now as my needs have changed, I dont prefer them. But I respect the boat. I would like to hear a comparison to the 35 and 344 cheetah |

No one is *****ing about Comparing a Founatin, or Cigarette, or anything else to say a magnum that's 4' or 5' wider !!! you can call it 38 foot if you like ,but 2 foot of the swim platform and/or 1 foot of the beak does NOTHING to affect the ride and rough water handling of the boat. since drag is one of the things that affect speed, to compare your boat that really has 35 foot of boat in the water to a boat that has 38 foot of boat in the water is not a fair comparison. not to mention that platforms and beaks do no weigh as much as 3 foot of hull. |
reggie will never put his ego aside, he spends almost as much time promoting himself as his boats. powerboat racing is doomed when we have ego's like his and others tearing the sport apart:mad:

The time when APBA tightened the noose, developed more consistent rules and enforced them is precisely when Reginald stopped winning quite so much and decided to take a hike....He actually suffered some pretty embaressing defeats by boats that are ordinarily laughed at....Go figure:rolleyes:  |
too old
back in my early days i bought a 222 stingray, you would think it was 22'2" correct? nope, it was measured at only 21'6" and once you eliminate the platform it was only 20'3". kind of misleading don't you think? i will agree that most performance boat owners know better, however if you are going to compare your boats speed and handling you should be comparing a 38 fever to a 344 hustler and not a 388 hustler.:D |
Can you say DONZI 38ZR!
to be honest he sounds no different than any other boat builders!!!...with one big exception...Steve Simon at DONZI....he's not about telling everyone what he's going to do or done....he just lets the results and the product speak for its self. don't ever remember a 388's with podium finishes in the pro series...RF does have a lot of bragging rights. |
my bad i did not realize the hustler had a platform.my point i am trying to make is the same

My Wellcraft is a 23' without the bolt on glass swimstep, 25' with the bolt on swimstep but only 19' sits in the water. so what size is it? What is your 28 saber at the water line 22? |
use the APBA rules:rolleyes:

First- All Future Fountain owners dream of the day they can strap on there Mr. T starter set and become Reggie's Mini-ME. And yes I had owned one of the true Reggie Ghetto sleds the 42 signature with black and gold trim "perfect reggie style". But seriously I did just read this morning in the latest Powerboat a article pertaining to MI manufacturing where Reggie said Peter at Skater was the World's best boat builder, I thought that was very humble for Reggie. He is a smart guy, my antique 42 looks like brand new, and if you are not a die hard, you wouldn't now it from a new one, Those boats are build like a brick **** house.
Saber28- did you just buy a new boat or something? Saber is a great boat and local to boot. But it is still 28', in stead of nailing a 2x4 on the front, you should just have Saber build you a 41' so you can keep up with the rest of us in the 5-6's on LK MI in our antiques that cant handle the rough water. I ran my over measured Fountain last night in 2-3's at a solid 92.3mph. Before you throw out challenges on this board, remember there are allot of us out here. If you see me at the lake, just give the call sign Charlie, and I'll show you just how fast these Fountains are. Midnight:cool: |
midnight rider,
what did you do to quiet the boat down after your ticket? |
Maby because my 12 yr Fountain has no
swim platform is the reason it runs 120. |
Saber28 - sorry about your small boat - pull up beside my 38 sometime - with the same power in your 28, a 38 (especially a staggered) will wipe your A#$ - in any water. Been there done that.
|
racing boaring this year???.. R U ON CRACK...did you see the savanah f2 race...the lead changed MANY times...deck to deck stuff!...how about the F1 daytona race!!!...cape code...i will admit the cleavland race was a drag (race) way too long and smooth...but F2 boats had holes in them and taking on water in that boaring race too:rolleyes:

LPboater
why are you bashing me? I HAVE NEVER SAID ANYTHING BAD ABOUT FOUNTAINS! read this several times if you have to.my point is about reggie's bash of cig. and formula, this guy has an ego that probably will be the death of his company and certainly is causing damage to the APBA. you can argue who is the biggest/baddest til you are blue in the face, do you really think a 38 foot(35:p ) is going to outrun a 28 with the same power in the smooth water? all logic and physics goes against that theory, i would have to see it to believe it, sorry. |
hummm....106mph in a kilo....38 beak with 500's...would love to see any saber 28 with 500's do it! actually the beaks have got 3 world records currently with 500's.
what engines does your boat have 28?? |
I don't think anybody is saying that Reggie builds a bad boat !! He builds, a great boat, and works very hard to promote his company, but in my opinion he slams anybody that says anything other than Fountains are the greatest things since sliced bread and air conditioning.
His hatride for Mike A., and APBA is only showing what type of person he is. His on son won APBA Super Vee last year, other than a sign in the Fountain booth at the Miami boat show, and 1 or 2 ads (that I saw) he has done nothing to promote that, but still runs adds about records that have since been retired (due to rules changes) I could be wrong, but with all the APBA records and championships that Fountains have won over the years, wouldn't it make sense to promote that, and come over and show what your product can do ? |
i really think all RF was trying to say was a fountain has it's own look...they really do
|
is this boat a specially prepared light lay up boat or a boat that i could go buy down at my marina. you are not comparing apples to apples.if it makes you fountain guys feel better: SABER28 says fountains are superior boats that will outrun all other boats in smooth water or rough water. if fact they are so much better than everybody else's boat i'm going out right now to sink or burn my boat. i encourage all cig. and formula owners to do the same.;)
|
Saber....Just ignore LP Boater.....he has some ego problems.
Gotta go torch my little Cig now............... |
actually i love the 28 saber:D

I ask everyone out there....
If you had a boat company, raced boats, and the sanctioning body made a new rule that said any boat running too much faster than any other needed to have weight added, etc. to make it more competitive, what would you do? I've heard drivers/throttleman complain, and they get pissed off cause they work their azz off to win, then they have weight added, etc. Well, you ask about marketing genius....... I'd gather this is a perfect example. My boat won, well, I'm going to state to the media that my boat is faster and needs to be slowed down and I don't like that rule. Wouldn't we all use that as a marketing strategy? The driver/throttleman acn same the same....I'm the best, so they have to slow me down. Why not? Sure is fun to have bragging rights for a while. I suppose if I raced and wanted to win the series, I'd then want the fastest boat and always come in second. :D:D:D:D And jealous/envious guys like Saber28 make such a stink, it's all that commotion and advertising that makes the name what it is. Wouldn't we all use that as a marketing strategy? The Miss Budweiser is having the same thing done to her, as well as any Unlimited Hydro that wins a race -- they then have to have their fuel flow restricted for the next one. This was because the series was dying due to the unbalanced field. The result of this rule: The racing is closer than it has been for over a decade -- no more parades or cake walks for the Bud. If Garbrecht would not have instituted this rule 2 years ago, Unlimited Racing probably would have gone completely defunct by now. I do feel really bad for Villwock. :( But when history books are written years from now, he'll be called the sacrificial hero that saved the Hydro series. On the other side of the coin, Budweiser could have quit and started a new Unlimted series where they were free to win evey race they entered, and then complained to the media about how unfair the rules of Hydro-PROP were - But they didn't. The HP Series is getting more publicity, more teams are coming back, and Budweiser is now getting more press than ever. Very smart move on their part. |
jealous/envious? no, i have chosen my boat very carefully, i could have purchased a fountain if that was what i wanted. i chose my SABER because of it's unquestioned durability and it's classic flatdeck good looks, and outstanding rough water performance, see powerboat 1994 offshore boat of the year, this boat was chosen despite little/no advertising/bribe money spent on SABER's part. by the way i purchased my boat new, i could have purchased a much larger used boat for the money i spent on my boat. i also know that i would not be the fastest boat out there with my power, but i do know that there is no 28 foot boat out there that rides rough water any better, and believe me i have rode in many other boats.i also got a boat that i have never broken anything on or had to retighten a single screw on in the 5 summers i have used this boat. and believe me this boat has been in the rough stuff, ask BHG111 or waterfoul. i use my boat , it has over 400 hours on it. if you love your fountain, great, my ***** is not with your boat, it's with the CEO, sorry you guys cannot seem to understand that:(
|
hey 28 can i take your ride out for a spin:D ...

Saber28...Your just miffed that there is no place for you to sit and dangle your feet in the water while suckin down brews.:(
The beak thing is this: Gives the boat bow lift at high speeds, and keeps the spray off your glasses. That beak is well worth the cost! Party of 4 please be seated here. |
B4M....look sweeeet! let me know if can ever be of service to you in your dial in needs:cool:
