Been there, done that 25 years ago, won in court. I never knew they were there. Too much Miami Vice for those guys.

If the marine patrol would have had a Nortech center console, they could have pulled beside him and given gestures for him to pull over. Clearly those officers need to get with administrators and get some better hardware.

I'm guessing they checked his GPS tattle tale speedometer when they caught up, because they sure couldn't pace his speed.

All loud boats which go faster than police patrol boats go 100mph.
Many of which are Bajas, for example. (99% of the general pouplation truly believe this) LOL

It would have really clarified the speed and the article in general if it referred to the boat as a Cigarette boat

Absolutely, because when they mentioned "catamaran", most everybody reading it automatically thinks "Hobie" and chalks the entire article up to a spoof piece by The Onion.
