Where do you get those cool looking model boats of the Scarab at?

Monogram did a 1/36 scale kit in the late 80s. From 86-88 Monogram produced three Scarab KV model kits.
The first was the "Miami Vice" kit released in 86. "Splash Dancer" and "Dazzlement" were released as spinoff kits in 88.
Dazzlement was actually fashioned after a 377 raised deck that belonged to the owners of Ateco Engines. I believe they still have it. No idea on the origins of Splash Dancer.
The kit was re issued in 09, but to a degree of disappointment.
Below is a thread from a few years back.

I collect model cars in mostly 1:18 scale. Mostly Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini. I've been concentrating on TV show cars. I have the Miami Vice Daytona and Testarossa. I never see the Scarab kits or Id buy one.

They've been bringing some crazy prices lately. Lay low and wait until there's multiple auctions and you can usually snag one cheaper.
I missed out on a Robbe R/C kit a couple days ago. Very rare and nice detail. At 26" long, it would be real close to 1/18 scale.
I contacted S&D Models about building a 1/18 for me. Still waiting on a quote

I look mostly on Ebay. Haven't seen one. But then again, I just do general searches and haven't specifically searched them.

found two on EBay. One is $150 and I don't see that as a bad price.

Up until a couple years ago an opened complete kit went for $15-$30 and a sealed kit $50-$70.
I think our fb page may have helped to drive the demand for the kits. We have over 3400 likes, but close to 8000 followers in total.
We get a lot of requests for the kits and the only source we can refer to is ebay.
I've reached out to Revell about having a private run made on the kit as a re issue, but looks like a whole lot of licensing issues to untangle.
The decals in the kit are pretty good, except for the deck stripes falling slightly short of the tip of the bow. Scanning them, stretching them in photo shop and printing them on decal paper solved the problem.
I spoke with one of the better after market decal guys in the modeling sector about doing a proper set of decals with an optional show version hull stripe added. He didn't feel there would be enough demand for the effort of developing the original template. Seriously considering a private run of a number he feels worth his while and sell them myself.
