Start to Finish: Building Our 50' Skater

It takes a lot to rattle me. I have been through so many extreme things in my life that testing a boat basically for the first time in the cold and rain then having an engine lock up in the middle of an 80 mph corner after you have spent weeks working day and night to get to run and only getting to run it a few min is pretty much normal to me.
The second the rpm stopped you see me look up real quick so I would be able to judge from the sponsons if the boat was going to try to hook and be able to correct it. But it pretty much didn't change direction.

I spent some time reading this entire thread last night. Good God I'm beyond impressed with your passion toward this project. Thank you VERY much for posting everything and best of luck chasing those records. I can't wait to follow along.

I hope I am proven wrong after all your hard work on this build but I still have my doubts about the reliability of the engine and gearbox package.
The loads placed on these in such a large boat is really going to test them to the max especially the lightweight casting of the block as there renowned for failure in high torque applications.
Worst case scenario billet options are available.
Keep up the good work is certainly an ambitious build.

Wasn't sure if anyone would pick up on the commentary at the end. Are you talking about where I ask where the fire extinguisher is or when he says there's oil all over?

Lets hope it doesn't look like this 1300hp Cummins after six 1/4 mile runs.
Watching this I didn't realize the Cummins doesn't have cross bolted mains, even a mains cap girdle will struggle to hold this together.
