Assuming most of the parts are interchangeable you could make a nice 6.0L V12. However, I would still have reservations about temps due to the duty cycle in a boat vs a light car.

its a fine line between crapping on his dreams and giving him advice. I suggested he make an aluminum block and head for a 1000hp C18 way up thread but he claimed it would be too heavy at maybe ~2000lbs each.

And I run straight diesel from any marina in mine..
