crashed on the couch for a quick rest and then I heard what sounded like electric motors going by.... wife even came upstairs to ask what that noise was ... good thing I have been following this thread off/on from the start so when I saw that 50' Silver hull with the rooster tail I knew exactly what it was. Man there were not even any fishing boats out with that front coming in. Great job Tyson and keep up the great thread.

Most of the time I have at least one person there to move the truck or go with me. But I'm pretty good at being a one man show

There are a couple things I have made for the boat that I'm not sure if they are going to work so I wanted to stay in the little lake so that if I'm on one engine or dead in the water floating I will end up against a shore instead of out into the middle of Lake Michigan. Or if the boat sinks I'm closer to shore since the water temp is so cold and I don't have any of the safety gear on the boat yet. I have not put the vhf radio, sat phone, epirb, etc. so I would have no way to contact anyone if something went wrong.

I have the remote control hooked up but I took the reverse gear out of the transmission because it was blocking the return opening to the dry sump pump too much and the transmission was filling up with oil and going out the vent. And I have not had time to change the drain openings in the case.
I mounted the external valve body for the transmission up on the back shelf and there is around 7' of hose to the transmission, I did not think it would take so long to fill the line with oil so there is a few seconds delay when you put it in gear. Between no reverse and a delay going into forward it is pretty interesting to put it on the trailer.

Tyson what kind of speeds are you seeing with these motors?

BigSilverCat 12-27-2016 10:07 AM

Video of tilting the boat on the trailer.

How tall did you end up on the trailer?
