The beak makes a great reference point to make sure you are towing a Fountain straight when upside down.

And no life jacket to boot! Um um um , shame on you.
Back to the ducks..

If they are going to tow it that fast WHY didn't they at least try to tow it bottom down and see if they could get some of the water out?

That's funny, I was just talking a couple hours ago how I wanted a beak off of a wrecked Fountain to have Phil Hess graft onto the bow of my Bayliner Trophy center console!

Keep your women close and your Fountain boat parts closer, you could run across one of those Formula 353 Fastech owners, over there on their forum, with their high tech grid chit falling apart, looking to steal the bottom out of a Fountain so they can own a boat that does not chit out on them.

Damn that was a long time ago.

One more dumb-a$$ theory on where the 'beak' design came from......

Okay, for the THOUSANDTH time. I wasn't on it when it flipped. I went in after the two guys that were. It started to sink quickly and was bow-up. I climbed up to the bow and got a line on it. We towed it in a circle until SeaTow got onsite to right the ship. I was only on it about 90 seconds. I, too, knew that line was a danger at that point.

And I was pretty sure it was blue(ish). And now I'm sure I needed a better diet back then. I think that was early '06. Maybe around this time of year.
