Default Boats Sales for the year

Wakeboard boats up almost 8 % again - pontoon boats and Jetskis doing very well.

This is thru July 2016 plus compared to last year sales for new engines sales.

Pontoon and Jet skis sold over 30 K brand new brands EACH. - Have you priced new outboards lately and pontoon boats are 50 K to 150 k they seem to be selling very well. IMO they will sell about 50 K alone this year (2016).

Everyone I know owns a sport type boat and they are all 10 plus years old. All of the power company's need a wake up call. They are all over priced. My family and friends are into boats and race cars and motorcycles. You can buy a built 800hp sprint car motor for 15k. What is. 750 illmor cost? I saw a advertisement from SEI why are there drives 1/3 the cost. Are that really junk or just priced better to grab the market.

350 hp Merc outboard is 30 K

115 hp is what today 12 to 13 K
That must be MSRP, I've seen the 300XS advertised at $18k, the 350 Verado at $21k, and the 400R at $27k.

A real sprint car motor starts at 50k if you are talking 410 motors , and that's a cheap one, 65k for a reliable motor making 850+, not going to get a lap out of a 15k 800hp sprint car motor most likely.

SEI isn't living off their legacy or name. In Mercury's defense, though, SEI didn't have to put nearly as much into R&D. And the R&D budgetting oughta bug all but a few boaters. Sure 1550/1350s are great, but I'm never going to afford one, most average boaters barely know they exist, and how much time and cash got dumped into development of that motor?

I would expect Merc dealers not to advertised heavily discounted prices (just MSRP) so who are the outlets advertising everything cheap? Are they recognized retailers selling with full warranties? Are they runout specials pre-updates or maybe stock with cosmetic faults?

This guy promotes the 400R from $24150 and everything else seems dirt cheap...
